Bribing the voters of New Jersey: How Democrats like Corzine survive
NY Post ^ | November 1, 2009 | STEVE MALANGA

With just two days to go, the New Jersey gubernatorial election has turned into a horse race among three candidates, a remarkable development considering that the incumbent, Democrat Jon Corzine, has huge unfavorable ratings. As one radio talk-show host put it: “Who is voting for Corzine?”

The answer is simple: people who benefit from big government. In a high-tax, big-spending place like Jersey, much of the burden of funding government falls on a narrow slice of residents who pay steeply progressive taxes, while the benefits of expanding government are enjoyed by those who receive more in services than they pay in taxes, or those who work for the government

Even a candidate like Corzine, with high unfavorables and a tax-and-spend record, can count on support from about 40% of the electorate. That’s a pretty good starting point, especially when the anti-tax crowd divides its vote among two other candidates — in this case, Republican Chris Christie and Independent Chris Daggett.

To understand how voting patterns work, look at who pays for government in Jersey, and who benefits.

There must be a method whereby a county can leave the state and form their own. It may be the best solution in any state where a few support the many.

Sometimes the only thing you can do in places like NJ is to leave. The taxtakers seem to outnumber the taxpayers now, so it is next to impossible to get someone who will indeed cut taxes and spending... so sometimes it is best just to flee.

Apparently, thousands have decided to take your advice.

Of course, many of them ended up here in Florida, which has no state income tax, and they waste no time in supporting libtard politicians. Palm Beach and Broward Counties are packed with that type.

New Jersey has been a crooked toilet for decades. It is hopelessly lost; it will never return to normalcy. Quite simply, it cannot be saved. Thus, it makes sense that the few productive who are actually still there, and whose toil and hard work support the majority who are useless eaters and deadbeats, should leave lest they get devoured.

I know. These people are literally like a virus. We experience the same sort of thing where I live, but on a much smaller scale. Damn liberals always want something for "nothing."

Just get you a “We don’t care how you did it up North” bumper sticker and flaunt it.

The dummies hate what they created in the NY area but then they want to import the same rot here. What nutjobs!

The Looters and Moochers will always demand more. By the time they outnumber the producers in any district, it’s past time to leave. It’s been past time to leave NY-NJ-CT for many years.

Those target move-to states better get state CONSTITUTIONAL language prepared and passed before the libtards from the NE overwhelm your districts. Votng blocks are tough to upend once they get entrenched.

then the productive men and women of New Jersey need to do what the productive men and women of New York are doing: SHRUGGING.

IOW, get out. Go to Florida or some other state where there is no state income tax.

Tat is why 500,000 citizens have fleed the Garden State under Corzine.

But there's so many more who wanted to leave and couldn't.
Then there's those who went south, but had to return because the jobs they went for disappeared.
And there's those people who know that there isn't where you can go to escape the leeches and so they stand their ground.

Atlas is looking pretty tired to me...
They should think about that.

There you go...come here and vote for a slate of libs.

We have a few counties in S.Florida that might as well be suburbs of NYC.

If Corzine IS re-elected, which is a good probability, the people of NJ are going to get a rude awakening. Taxes are going higher and services are going down. The state budget is in a shambles. Like in NYC, the rich are moving out.

Whoever gets elected is going to have to do serious budget cutting, not just smoke and mirrors. But at least Christie may be able to implement some free market and economic growth initiatives. Corzine will just keep pilfering people’s wallets.

Steve Lonegan: A time for choosing (in the NJ Gubernatorial election)

Lonegan is urging all NJ citizens to vote for Christie to send a message to blue dog Democrats and Obama.
