Dierdre K. Scozzafava's decision to suspend her campaign for the 23rd Congressional District seat is a shocking development in what had already been an extraordinary race.

In her statement Saturday morning, the assemblywoman explained the reasons behind her decision: "It is increasingly clear that pressure is mounting on many of my supporters to shift their support. Consequently, I hereby release those individuals who have endorsed and supported my campaign to transfer their support as they see fit to do so."

During the day Saturday, she began to quietly and thoughtfully encourage her supporters to vote for Democrat William L. Owens.

I pray you are right and that the Republican “leadership” can get their head and heart where it needs to be.

You must be kidding...She’s a liberal democrat( running as a republican) who agrees with the dems so much she dropped out and is urging her supporters to vote for the dem. she dropped out because the polls showed more republicans voting for the independent conservative than her. Shes no patriot...just another Arlen Spectre RINO

Why the heck would the dems run her on their ticket? Look at Specter......he flipped and now they are going to run in the primaries against him. She is a woman without a party and her political career is OVER.

Obama’s secret plan to flip a Republican district. Step 1, appoint Representative McHugh (R), to be Secretary of the Army.

Does not surprise me at all.

He won his first election by disqualifying all his opponents.

He is a treacherous little twerp.

And he is a Traitor, he swore to protect and defend the Constitution and every action since he has been in office is to destroy it.

“Scozzafava was an Arlen Spectacle waiting to happen.”

I don’t agree. Specter may have been a RINO, but at least he carried the water for Clarence Thomas, and was very reliable vote on judges. This lady was waaaayyyy to the left of him...heck, her husband is the top union boss in that part of the state. It was unreal that she EVER got this far as a Republican in a Republican district.

Old. He’s been around too long. Too much Washington. He’ll keep at it though. He’s a real addict to the power game. It’s not as if he has anything else, a farm business, manufacturing. He can not even dance.
