Peoria, Arizona - An Iraqi immigrant accused of running down his daughter in Arizona with his car because she was becoming "too Westernized" has been arrested in Georgia, authorities said on Friday.
Jim Joyner, a spokesman for the US Marshals Service in Atlanta, said Faleh Almaleki was arrested on Thursday when he arrived at Atlanta's airport. He had been sent from the United Kingdom after authorities denied him entrance.

What the hell is it with Islam? You never, ever hear about Baptist fathers killing their daughters for doing things that are not allowed by the religion. The same goes for orthodox Jews - or orthodox Russians or orthodox Greeks, or Catholics, or Presbyterians, or Assemblies of God, or Jehovah’s Witness, or Hindus, or Buddhists, or Taoists, or Baha’is, or Unitarians, or Scientologists.... What is it with Islam? It’s almost like a Mafia death cult. And there’s a billion of them, too. Very scary thought.

I sometimes think the same thing - then, as if to prove that there is a kind and loving God, there is an alternative for all those lost Moslems just waiting for them in Persia called the Baha’i Faith. The Baha’is share some superficial resemblance to Islam, especially in their form of prayer, the way their leaders talk about God, and their idea that the words in their holy books come directly from God - but they also believe in the equality between men and women, their religious communities are organized along republican principles, they are avowedly non-racist, they believe that all people are God’s children in one human family, and they believe that no one should preach the Baha’i Faith for the purposes of conversion.
It’s my understanding about five percent of Iran is Baha’i. It’s almost like God has planted this little seed in Iran waiting for Islam to become so corrupt that people beg for something to take its place.
I’ve lived with and worked alongside Baha’is, by the way. A world with a billion of those people would be a very pleasant place to live. And no one would be taking part in honor killing, suicide bombings, or video beheadings.
