Michael Barone : What happened to Obamamania ?
Washington Examiner ^ | November 01, 2009 | Michael Barone

Where have all those Obamenthusiasts who were so visible in 2008 been hiding this year? In this New Republic article Lydia DePillis seems to think that the problem is that Organizing For America has been run as a top-down organization, rather than as a bottom-up movement, giving the folks out there no sense of ownership. She asks, “Can a grassroots organization run in the top-down style of a political machine really accomplish much—let alone change the terms of debate on any given issue?”

I think there’s something more going on here. Many Obamenthusiasts were thrilled by the idea of putting Obama in and getting George W. Bush out. They achieved their goal a year ago. What more is left? Did these people really expend all this energy to reduce the percentage of people without health insurance? “We are the change we are seeking,” Obama said during the campaign. Well, the Obamenthusiasts got that change. Now they can go back to gardening or Sudoku.

The maniacs in my church are still very much present. I was irked to see that they even put "Yes we can" on the reply card for our annual stewardship campaign. We didn't tear it up, but didn't return it either. I'm still thinking about how to respond. There are many things I like about my church, but when the lefty politics are brought into it, it bothers me a lot.

When I can, I try to educate or challenge their thinking. Some are so far into the indoctrination it's hard to know where to start. I find many of them are expecting the economy to improve soon, as though it's a natural thing like winter following autumn. In those instances I usually express my opinion that the blithering idiots in Washington are destroying the foundations of our economy with excessive debt and spending. Even liberals can somewhat relate to the need to balance a budget.

Heh heh.

I work with two women who were ardent Zero supporters during the election. Both of them have been strangely subdued for about the last six months, and one has actually said some things critical of Obama.

I think they’re both starting to come around.

I'm still thinking about how to respond.

Stand up..and tell the whole congregation you are living..and why.

How can you continue to throw pearls at swine?

How can you continue to sow seed in dead ground?

I've made that choice....a time or two.

But for different reasons...other than politics.

You think sex with a goat is ok? I dunno, it could be a problem since you have to stop and run around up front to kiss her (him?)

Maybe muzzies aren’t big on that romance stuff, ya know?

Good zinger Phil

I recall watching a History Channel documentary of “Happy Days Are Here Again” sung in German by NAZIS in the 1930s

-

Watch the original 1983 “V” TV show on the SyFy Channel and the new “V” TV series on ABC

New “V” series Trailer/ad - “Visitor woman” very sternly to a male journalist:

“You should not paint us in a negative way!”

(Sorry - paraphrased)

The suddenly incredulous male journalist:

“What did you say?”

(Sorry - paraphrased)

-

Seem like Dunn, Obama, Axelrod, Gibbs speaking on live TV news about FOX and FOX News Channel?

-

There is so much in “V” that is a template of ObamaNizm today - each step becomes more evil

You are always so informed on TV and stuff. For some reason I have no recollection of The TV series “V”! Even did a Google. Maybe if I saw one I would recall.
