Three Grenadier Guards and two Royal Military Police were attacked as they rested inside a compound.
The soldiers, who had removed their body armour and helmets, were shot by an Afghan national policeman who then fled. It is not known whether he was a member of the Taliban or being coerced by the insurgents.
The gunman is thought to go by the name Gulbuddin and is believed to have had an accomplice.
There are also suggestions that he had animosity towards his superiors after being repeatedly moved around the country as part of his duties.
He is now being hunted by British soldiers on the ground, thought to include special forces.

Unlucky victims of a Taliban terrorist in a convenient disguise: An Afghan National Police uniform.
Oh give me a break, WTH is the difference? The MSM - hookers with journalism degrees spinning cotton candy for murderers, 24/7/365.
More Muslim Mass Murder.
“Rogue”? No. Just an observant muslim doing what observant mulims do. They did this to our guys last month. God bless our troops.
A British patriotic hymn.

As long as it’s the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan, the citizens caught in that bondage will behave this way. Ann Coulter was right.
The proper way to deal with this would be to determine where he came from and WIPE OUT the entire area...message sent, message hopefully received.

I don't always agree with Ann, but she was spot on with this, and our lack of spine in carrying out that commonsense policy is going to get us all killed, or get our granchildren all killed in 50 years. We are weak as a society.
I have often thought that this was the only way to get a message across to those who would be terrorist martyrs- unleash on their kinfolk.- “Hey, wanna play barbarian? We can too...”
Before my son wnet o his first combat tour to Iraq, he asked if I had any advice. He was well trained (on a Marine FAST team) and would have all the ammo he would ever want or need.
So my advice was simple - NEVER, EVER turn your back to an indig. Ever. period.
He survived two tours in the sandbox, I have no doubt my advice was nearly worthless but my prayers were answered.
And so my prayers go out to the familes of these men.
