I have written a lot over the years on my experiences with vote fraud in elections. Were it not for fraud, Republicans would win far more elections.
After serving as a campaign worker, Poll Watcher, Alternate Judge in a democrat-dominated precinct, and yesterday as an Election Judge, I have concluded that being an election worker is the BEST way to prevent fraud.
As a Judge you can enforce the law to the letter. In Texas we have an air tight system enhanced by our outstanding, un-hackable ESlate voting system in Harris County. I was aided by fellow Freepers, Tropicana Rose and Zeppelin who put in a long day. Both of them would make great Election Judges themselves.
In previous elections I noticed the same guy (very odd looking obese blonde fellow) voting. He seemed nervous and yet practiced as he worked the voting machine much faster than other voters. Then I realized that I had seen the SAME guy IN A DIFFERENT PRECINCT IN A PREVIOUS ELECTION. This aroused my suspicion.
In another incident, I was the Alternate Judge in a democrat dominated precinct. A very well dressed man came in and handed the Judge a slip of paper saying, "This is my address, but I am not in the Poll Book. But that's the address I am voting from today." The Judge knew the man well since he was a democrat activist (she told me later he was loud, arrogant, and disruptive at democrat meetings). The Judge told him, "I know that house; its only a block from my house. Its your rental property and I know your renters." He then became very angry and insisted that the rental house was his official residence and that he WAS going to vote in the precinct. I offered him the Statement of Residence Affidavit to complete. Texas voting law says that if you are not in the Poll Book and the county confirms that you are not registered at that address, then you MUST complete the Affidavit. He angrily refused to complete it. Then the Judge tried to let him know that a Republican was watching by introducing me as the Republican Alternate Judge. He exploded in anger and told her, "WE AINT NEVER HAD NO REPUBLICANS HERE IN THIS PRECINCT. YOU GOTTA THROW HIM OUT NOW!" She politely called the county for instructions. They county officials sighed and told her, "Yeah, we know who he is. Let him vote." Later the Election Judge told me that the guy had rental properties all over the county and probably bullied his way into voting in multiple precincts.
Now that I have been to Judge Law Class, I know that he committed a FELONY and the meek, democrat Election Judge committed a CLASS A MISDEMEANOR by letting him vote.
My dear fellow Freepers, this is where the rubber meets the road! We only need a handful of successful prosecutions to discourage fraud.
As I worked this election I realized how fraud is possible even with air tight laws and systems. The vote fraud perps just need to create "Phantom Voters" one time. He makes up a name, registers said phantom by mail with a residence address he controls (examples: empty apartments in a building he owns or manages, rental houses where he can tell tenants to hold mail addressed to the phantom "who used to live there", his brother-in-law's house, the homes of other democrats in on the scheme).
When the perp goes to the Polling Place with the phantom VRC there are several methods he can use to get past the ID required by law. If he has just one Clerk at Early Voting who is in on the scheme (bribed, perhaps), the Clerk pretends to check his Drivers License and lets him vote. NOW THE PHANTOM IS IN THE SYSTEM AS A VALID VOTER. As long as he can keep getting the mail for the phantom, he gets current VRCs and keeps voting!
Another method would be to put the cable TV at the phantom's address in the phantom's name long enough to generate a "current utility bill" which is allowed under Texas law as a method of identification. Or the perp could have a friendly printer make checks (with a computer?) with the phantom's name and address which are also OK for ID under Texas law.
Once a phantom voter is in the system and the perp can get the VRC (Voter Registration Certificate), its easy. The perp walks into the Polling Place, presents his phantom VRC, and VOTES. A serous vote fraud perp could get VRCs for phantoms in many precincts and vote 10, 50,or 100 times on Election Day. In Harris County we have over 800 Polling Places on Election Day. An organized ring of perps would be even more effective.
THE BEST WAY TO PREVENT FRAUD IS TO BE THERE. When I voted early how many Republican Poll Watchers were there? ZERO. When Election Day rolled around the county was BEGGING for Republican workers and coming up short.
Please consider working in the next election. Its best if you become a Judge because knowing the law and penalties gives you enormous power to enforce it to the letter. When I was a Poll Watcher if I had known the law well I could have called the Secretary of State and THEY WOULD HAVE ARRESTED THE DEMOCRAT ELECTION JUDGE ON THEY SPOT FOR THE EGREGIOUS VIOLATIONS TAKING PLACE.
As a Judge, no one can browbeat you. In the case above where the guy was berating the Judge she could have called the police and had the guy arrested. You are a REAL JUDGE for that day!
Being an election worker is not hard. I took two evening classes, spent a few hours coordinating with the others on the phone, and put in one long Election Day.

The last election in houston voted in was i think in 78’ Ford (R) Carter (D) I believe the lesbo was the mayor at the time. The gas lines got long and I decided I would rather live out in the country. The east end of Houston wasn’t too bad at the time. I went back a few years ago to look at my old hood (Broadway @ Lawndale)..... Terrible! Looks like little Guadalajara there now.
Yep - I hear ya and bemoan the lack of round-ups for illegals. I live in the Heights - which is a mix of great stuff - but very ecclectic. Don’t sell those that live in the area now. short.
They need to actually count the money before they can be shown its the answer to their prayers.

I hear ya - many illegals have turned certain parts of Houston in to Lil Mexico. I live in the Heights and witness illegals standing in parking lots waiting to be hired for a day job - they gather between Durham and Shepherd at 11th St - right next to a damned police station! The only upside of the down economy has been that there are fewer of them.
The conservatives don’t live in Houston. We all live in the surrounding area. The city of Houston is pretty “blue”. Think Sheila Jackson Lee. And I don’t see anything changing anytime soon.

We East Texas Conservative Republicans are already working to put Conservative Republicans in control of the local Republican apparatus, and to send Conservative Republicans to all Republican Conventions.
Now, I'm going to start a project to put Conservative Republican poll workers in all of our precinct polling places.
For any help getting started with that, I'd be "Much Obliged"...
(BTW, did you notice the embryonic "CR" "HTMLogo"?) What an effect we could have if we conservatives all turned up at all our GOP conventions wearing hats with CR on them!

So take the fight to the next level.
Would it be (legally) considered “invasion of privacy” to quietly follow a voter after he leaves the polls, to see if he goes to another polling place? If somebody tried to vote in a second location, you could get a picture of him and show it to poll workers throughout the area. Or make a video of the confrontation when you challenge him directly. (Don’t worry, there’s always a cop on duty at the polling place.)
Ask for a copy of the voter registration list then take it to the town clerk’s office, where you can compare the list of voters to births & deaths records.
I heard a story about a bus full of people leaving a church parking lot to go vote in another state, during the Obama coronation. Look for buses in church parking lots (voting day is always a Tuesday) and follow it. Be discreet, but be there.

Being a Republican Precinct Chair and an Election Judge for about 15 years, I have had few problems that have called me to actually have to deal with any concerted effort to defraud anything in our voting precinct...
I did get a few folks come in and do some stupid things in the 2006 election for the TX-22 race at the time, but I again, attributed thsat to stupidity on their part...
One guy tried to get me to allow him to vote, even though he asked for and recieved a ballot by mail that was sent to him in Argentina (he worked for the State department) yet he managed to show up in person to vote that day...He tolld me I have the authority to allow him to vote...Yet I told him he needed to produce that ballot mailed to him, and he could have voted with no problems...He could not produce it, so I told him the alternatieve was to go downtown and get an affidavit and bring it back, and I would put him at the head of the line to vote that day...
He told me he had been voting here to 17 years...To which I told him I’d never seen him before...That shut him up pretty quick, and after a couple of hours I made good on my side of the deal and put him at the front of the line after he brought back the affidavit from the downtown office...
Some liberals really need to understand that we play by the rules in this county (Harris), and the more BS they produce, the more we are going to police this situation up...
Be aware we are also being tested...I had a lady actually come up to me and ask me whothe Republican candidate for Mayor was???
I told her I cannot even tell her who the democrats were...
She responded with a classic: “I won’t tell anyone (under her breath)”
I had to tell her to pay attention in the future so she wouldn’t have to ask that kind of innappropriate question...She also was someone I had never seen before voting in my precinct...
Just flat out amazing to me that this kind of crap still goes on...
That's exactly right. That's how we won NJ. Heavy turnout in the suburbs where the high property tax residents live and low turnout in the big cities (no obama on the ticket).
I worked this election in a genteel, clean suburb for practice.
If you want to see fraud in action, you have to go to the inner city neighborhoods. For example you could look at my report on Poll Watching in the 2000 election. If I knew then what I know now, I think a call to the Secretary of State could have gotten the democrat Judge arrested.
I will volunteer in 2010 to be the Alternate Judge in such a precinct. At the same time I am actively recruiting Republicans and conservatives to volunteer, get the training, and serve.
My advice:
1 If there is a Democrat-majority precinct in your county, volunteer to be the Alternate Judge there. Be sure to go to Election Judge training. I found that the Election Law class was INVALUABLE.
For example, in the 2000 election I was a Poll Watcher, but had no training in the law or what to do in the case of violations. The Democrat Election Judge at this precinct took a newly-minted voter who spoke only Spanish to a voting machine at the end of the line. He told the voter in Spanish, “Punch this number out to vote a straight Democrat ticket and you can go home.” Then he watched as the new citizen meekly complied. I told the Judge, “What you just did is illegal.” He did not know until that moment that I spoke Spanish. Had I known the law, I would have walked out and called the Secretary of State who would have sent an Investigator immediately. What the Judge did was a FELONY.
2. After you get experience as a Judge or Alternate, I recommend being a Poll Watcher in an inner city, all Democrat precint. You get appointed as a Poll Watcher by someone running for office. For example, if there is a Congressional race, you must reside in that Congressional District, but you can poll watch ANYWHERE in the District. In a presidential year, you can go ANYWHERE IN THE STATE if the Republican candidate for President appoints you as a Poll Watcher.
Following suspicious voters is not an invasion of privacy.
In the 2007 election, I traveled around Houston vith a telephoto videocam looking for vans near polling places. I think I need to check out certain parking lots at union halls, churches, etc. too. Did not catch any that year.
We really need some intel on how they do the fraud. Are there any Freepers or lurkers who don’t have a “paper trail” that would indicate that they are conservative? Such a person could register as a democrat, go to the various meetings, volunteer to be an Election Clerk, and learn what is really going on.
I once was at a meeting of the Greater Houston Partnership as a marketing rep for my employer. At the luncheon I sat with Planned Parenthood, some folks from the teachers union, and assorted progressives. Everybody assumed that we were all democrats and I chatted pleasantly with them.
After the speeches I amble up to talk to the speakers. A reporter and a well known democrat state rep were laughing uproariously about something. I asked what was so funny. They told me that the reporter was going to break some lurid story about the affairs and divorce of a prominent Republican running for high office that year.
Needless to say, I met with the Republican politician and warned him about the truckload of mud that was about to hit his family. He turned beet red with anger and told me that he thought both of the democrats were his friends. He was so naive that he never dreamed they would betray him. In the end, there was no mud and he won the elecion. He called his opponent and promised massive retaliation in kind if his family was attacked so it never came to that.
Bottom line: Act innocent and non-judgemental. Ask questions and go along with them. You will be amazed at the secrets that the other side will blab to you.
If you get really good intel, don’t talk about it on the phone or on the Web. Personal conversations with trusted friends only. Remember who’s running the NSA now.
More than that. Purge the rolls after EVERY election. Every election needs a NEW registration, a NEW voting card with a unique serial number, provided only after a photo ID is produced. Proof of residency is probably a good thing here too.
THEN, at the poll, present voter ID, present PHOTO ID, the voter ID serial number has to match the name, residence, and photo. After ya vote, ya smile for the camera, dip your finger in the ink, and take your vote receipt with you. If you are in doubt about your vote, your serial number can be researched to make sure your vote, ID, etc. hasn't been tampered with.
This will cost a lot of money, but otherwise we don't have a legitimately elected government ever again. BUT, all will happily submit to all the security procedures to keep away from the firing squad, right? Vote fraud is worse than a Felony, in my mind. It's a treasonous act as far as I'm concerned. There needs to be a few hangings to make a point.
