I did this a while back, and was informed it was a “spoofed” number. That was a new one on me. And the guy with strong foreign accent, was very threatening, and wanted me to verify my SS number. I didn’t.

I hear ya, Gipper. I have a FB account, but I haven't opened that page almost since the day I created it. Frankly, I don't get Facebook, and haven't warmed up to the way it functions, either.

I know that a lot of folks love it, but it just doesn't turn my crank for some reason. I'm also very suspicious of all of the "friending", and linking that goes on. It just seems like too much loss of privacy to me.

I have a friend who did a “jailbreak” on her IPhone and was able to obtain an application from Cydia which spoofs whoever she dialed. She dialed me and it rang but looked like a different number.
