According to your link, they were in uniform, but it’s not clear yet whether they were soldiers. Remembering how wrong everybody was about the Oklahoma City bombing until McVeigh surfaced, maybe it’s best not to jump to conclusions...

I don’t see that at the link. But it does have this:
“Fort Hood is home to the Warrior Combat Stress Reset Program, which is designed to help soldiers overcome combat stress issues.”
That may or may not be relevant.

Expect to see more of this. The soldiers of the greatest generation never seemed to come close to start shooting their own fellow servicemen.

I can't vouch for accuracy but a person at
this website is reporting his/her daughter is on the base and that the shooters were "A couple soldiers didn't want to go back to Iraq...One shooter was a E-6"
