" What was all that inane "Gotta' give a shout out" chatter that 0bama was doing before turning to his address about Fort Hood personnel?"

0's "My Pet Goat" moment.

#3 Got caught in some drug connection (sorry libertarians)

Why would that bother libertarians? We’re the ones who blame the violence associated with drugs on the fact that they are criminalized.

Has he left for the golf course yet?

Ridiculous - shows how out of line he is when he has to act on the spur of the moment - thought it was more important to pander to the audience than talk about the dead soldiers. Sounds as if it was some Native American conference.

Both of our sons are OK. Yes both are home from Iraq. One on R&R and one just home late last night. This is so wrong to have to worry about family on post.

BULL CRAP

Take a look at how long a lot of the units were in the field. They didn’t have KRB hot meals at the back. Tell the guys who wintered in Bastogne. This is nonsense. The greatest generation saw some many of their comrades in arms die next to them. The loses in the current conflicts are NOTHING by comparison. And there was no tour and then home for a rest. IF they were lucky they got a couple of weeks back in England and then returned to the front. The guys in the Pacific were worse off.

You ought to check yourself

FWIW, in the 70’s, when I was in, you were only armed by the distribution from the arms room, which, if the M16 reports are true, means at least two are involved.

Ammo is, of course, available on the civilian market, as are magazines. If you can get the weapon, feeding it isn’t a problem. (Note: my semi AR’s eat well...)

It is to be remembered, though, since most have never served, that the military is normally disarmed, although in better physical condition than your normal civilian, including me. You only get your rifle for practice, or if they’ve a target in mind: you aren’t on you own, ever.

And we appear to have ROP members, via the latest on line radio news (WMAL) report...

Issue the rifles and let the men go!

I’m sorry, I don’t believe that this was a US soldier.

I honestly understand how you feel. I'm a veteran....and I am just sick at this news....

I want to know who these people are, and what type of background checks they were subjected to.

There’s going to be more to this story than what is being reported by the Lame Stream Media as things unfold. Let’s wait for the full details before we decide what happened - that’s what libs expect of us, to leap to the conclusions they want us to leap to.

They stated the soldier’s name that was Arab sounding on my Channel 5 and also stated he was from Virginia and had converted to Muslim.

Hmmm.... Why don’t we just let anyone get in our Defense department. How many have gone up the ranks and infiltrated security information. This is outrageous!

Plus there was quite a bit of whitewashing during that time. And let’s not forget the generation that the “greatest generation” gave birth to.

You dont know that they are ‘own’ NOT all US soldiers are citizens. All we know is that people are dead and they aren’t releasing much info

It's beat dog, pet dog today. One day they are your friend, tomorrow they blow you up.

WW2 had defined theaters and targets. Different stress levels today.

Exactly, and when it is decriminalized as it was in CA you get in home pot farms and 500% increases in pot captured on Federal land because of the legal demand created by liberal California voters.

The dad that did drugs with his kids was my favorite, wonder if any of them graduated high school with those parents.

Anyway, drug connection is a lesser possibility IMO.

WW2 Soldiers/Marines did about 32 days average in the war zone. VN did about 65 days average. In the "overseas contingency operation" it is about 3 months PER tour.
