Best coverage so far over on Drudge. The article featured in the center got to me. A retired officer said he thought it was a training exercise, then a young soldier ran past and said “Someone is shooting, Sir.” As he ran past the officer the officer said he saw blood running down the kid’s back. He said the kid didn’t even know he’d been shot. That got to me.
The shooter is not and was never a US soldier — a soldier, maybe, but not one of ours.
He was a Ft. Hood civilian cop. Most of the larger bases, since the massive reductions in forces in the early '90s, field both a military police force and a contracted civilian police force.
This was an act of terrorism..plain and simple. Most of us knew right off the bat that it was going to involve the ROP. I sent a text to my husband shortly after it was reported that it would be an islamist. This is what they have been threatening to do for some time if you follow the chatter. Let’s hope the other bases around the country are on alert.

This Major Hasan was apparently fairly outspoke against Iraq and Afghanistan.
Does anyone remember the case of Sgt. Asan Akbar in 2003? He was the guy who fraged the command tent on the night of the invasion of Iraq killing two officers (one an Idaho Major) and wounding 14 others. He was ultimately sentenced to death and is awaiting appeal and carrying out of the sentence.
His own quotes included:
“I may not have killed any Muslims, but being in the Army is the same thing. I may have to make a choice very soon on who to kill. You guys are coming into our countries, and you’re going to rape our women and kill our children.”
I believe we will find that this is in a similar vein.

He shot and killed a woman and child at the theater. This was a terrorist act against Americans.

One gunman was in custody and another was on the loose, local media reported. One station said there was a third shooter involved. It went down during graduation ceremony.
‘Seven shot dead’ at US army base
At least seven people have been killed and 12 others injured in a shooting at the Fort Hood military base in Texas, according to US media reports.
One person has been arrested and at least one more is reportedly on the loose. The base has been locked down.
NBC News network said the two suspects were in military uniform and that the shooter-at-large was believed to have a high-powered sniper rifle.
Fort Hood, located near the town of Killeen, is a large US military base.
Home to about 40,000 US troops, it lies halfway between Austin and Waco, about 60 miles (97 km) from each city.
It is not yet clear whether those reported killed and injured are civilians or military personnel.
Local congressman John Carter, speaking to NBC News, confirmed that there had been a shooting at the base, saying the gunfire had erupted during a graduation ceremony.
The BBC’s Adam Brookes in Washington says there are military police and Swat teams on the scene, and the FBI is on the way. Schools in the area have also been locked down.

Congressman John Carter(TX) says that the two suspects have been released and that the Army is looking for another suspect.
The Major was a mental health professional according to Cong Carter. He also was given info that two people were released while they are searching for another shooter.

The shooter was a psychiatrist recently reassigned from Walter Reed.

Off duty cop.
He could have easily been self-dispensing Prozac, or some other mind-altering psych drug. Most of the lunatic shooting sprees over the last decade have one thing in common, and that is, the shooters have nearly all been on anti-depressants.
Add to that, that he was probably also under the influence of Islam, and you've got a volatile combination.
He would saddle up and stop burning daylight!!
