Perhaps I'm just feeling a bit churlish but really it's not always just about them.

It’s not his Muslim name but his Muslim religion that drives him to commit atrocities.

Maybe they should become Christians.

US Islamic groups were bracing themselves for a public backlash against the faith today.

There wasn't a "public backlash" against Muslims after 9/11 (except for that unfortunate Sikh murdered by a knuckledragging moron). Doubt there will be a "public backlash" tomorrow.

“...expressing fears about damage to inter-faith relations, already strained by the September 11 attacks, and wars in Iraq and Afghanistan.”

...not to mention calling Christians and Jews “apes” and “pigs,” and having a “holy book” that urges Islam’s adherents to kill the “infidels” who do not believe Mohammed was a greater prophet than Moses and Jesus.
I can’t imagine why those “inter-faith relations” aren’t going well, Ibrahim.

Sun rises in the east. Sun sets in west. Muslim commits act of savagery. Reporter writes story about Muslims fearing backlash. Yawn.

The shooter’s father was born in ‘Palestine’ in 1946. Lovely. Yet more American blood on their hands. Robert F. Kennedy in 1968. U.S. Ambassador in Khartoum in 1973. Leon Klinghoffer in 1986.

Of course it is. Muslims are now the victims.

More whining about a mythical anti-muslim backlash. Pretty tasteless how this comes out just hours after another muslim slaughter of innocents.

“The guy’s name is a Muslim name, . . .”

They are right. This proves nothing. Just last century, there was a quaker guy named “Mohammed.”

It is the same kabuki theater played out over and over again. Muslims commit an atrocity, fear backlash, and once they realize their will not be one, they will go on to paint themselves as the victims. Already happening in this case. I say what about the Arkansas murders? Funny how that got slipped to page 9 in section B immediately after it happened.

When your “god” is Satan and your #1 dude is a pedophile and your religion is responsible for 90% of all wars in the world, why would you be worried?

Muslim groups fear backlash after Fort Hood rampage.

Don't worry, the President will be out to apologize to you for any inconvenience before a joint session of Congress first thing in the morning. There will also be mandatory Islamic Diversity and Sensitivity Orientation (ISDIVSOR) for all newly entering servicepersons to make sure no Religion of PeaceTM adherents are driven to kill twelve people by meanies in the US military again.

Fifty-eight percent said there was a lot of discrimination against Muslims in the United States.

Better safe than sorry.

After we lost 3000 people, we didn't turn on the Muslims in our midst.

When our people who helped liberate millions from Saddam--who even those against the war agree was a tyrant--were hung from bridges to dancing and applause, we didn't turn on the Muslims in our midst.

I just wish some of these folks would stand up and say they are part of US instead of always worrying about their little unit with the USA...something no one who considers himself an American ever worries about. We didn't think 9/11 was only about New York.

If these folks ever want to wonder why they even have these unfounded fears, they might want to think about the way Americans treat non-Americans in our midst, as compared to how folks from back home treat outsiders.

.."witch-hunt" like that which followed September 11, 2001. "This is a criminal act and we have to treat it like a criminal act, not something to do with religion" he told AFP.

What "witch hunt," exactly?

And yes, Muslim terrorism does have something to do with religion. Not all Muslims are terrorists, but some are, and a large minority percentage actually support terrorism in support of their religion.

When a Southern Baptist, or a Mormon, or a Catholic, or a Jew, or a Mennonite commits murder, do those groups immediately talk of fearing reprisals? Why not?

“..US Islamic groups were bracing themselves for a public backlash against the faith today.”

These idiots who say they welcome the chance to be martyrs don’t need to worry. Each one of them already has reservations at Satan’s Holiday Inn on the Burning Lake. Hey guys, take aloe lotion with you when you blow yourselves up.

Muslims kill people and the rest of us are required to be worried about anti-Muslim backlash. This is maddening.
