(SNIP)
But instead of a somber chief executive offering reassuring words and expressions of sympathy and compassion, viewers saw a wildly disconnected and, inappropriately light president making introductory remarks. At the event, a Tribal Nations Conference hosted by the Department of Interior's Bureau of Indian affairs, the president thanked various staffers and offered a "shout-out" to "Dr. Joe Medicine Crow -- that Congressional Medal of Honor winner." Three minutes in, the president spoke about the shooting, in measured and appropriate terms. Who is advising him?

This came out of NBC in Chicago? Lawd have mercy.
He’s supposed to worry about this?
Uh...they don’t roll like that at the White House.
isn’t this almost like Rick Shancez joking about the twitter server going down before he transit to, plane crash scores of people died
The man is living in his own dream world. Aided and abetted by his White House flunkies.
Who’s advising him????? They should watch a Glenn Beck program and see the list of marxists and communists who are advising him! Good grief.
I predicted at some point, many in the media would turn on this asshole. I was right.
His hometown news homies, with an acidic headline.
There could have been a million ways to spin it, but they went with the gut punch...
I watched it live on Fox.
All the lead-ins to the appearance talked about how Baraq was coming on tv to make a statement about the shootings.
It seemed surreal when he started talking about the Dept of Interior stuff and went on and on.
Doubt that it will have any effect, SCM will put it into a lock box.
I noticed he spoke about the weight of responsibility to American service members and their families in the USA but didn’t mention those serving elsewhere.
I don’t think he sees our military people in Afghanistan and Iraq as being part of his responsibility. He sees the war on terror as being the fault of Bush and therefore not his problem.
Now contrast his 2 plus hours to formulate his response to the moment President Bush was told about planes flying into the World Trade Center, which sitting in a room with small children and how the media roasted him for not jumping up in the air and screaming for action!
Bears repeating.
My take exactly as well. Parallel universe stuff.
The same anti-American, anti-white muzzies & commies that have been “advising him” since college...
It’s why I capitalized “CHICAGO” in the link..I couldn’t believe it either..
“Who is advising him?”
Who needs advice on being appropriate after that kind of tragedy? He’s just disconnected.
Why should he condemn an attack on a military base? Some of his best friends were going to blow up a dance at Ft. Dix.
Daily answering the question, "What became of Bluto after Animal House?"
media turn on him? I need more evidence of this please
But I'll admit that it will be ironic that the ones who will be loudest in defending President Obama will often be the ones who were most strident in condemning President Bush's actions on 9/11/2001.
He’s a muslim or muslim symp happy about a “victory” for jihad. Of course he was joking and inappropriately light-hearted.
He’s scum.
What did you expect, there was no time for anyone to write him a speech with emoticons telling him how to act.
The jerk didn’t even know it was the Medal of Freedom, which he presented and you don’t “Win” the Medal of Honor, it is Awarded to you.
The problem is obama is only concerned if it effects him.....he slept fine last night, he does not give a damn about anyone else.
Why is everyone so surprised by this? This makes total sense if you remember that he's just reading off the teleprompter.
That's just the order it was edited into the totus script.
It says nothing about his true feelings...he doesn't have any.
Cmon folks....it's just a freaking puppet show and it all makes sense when you remember that.
The man should have FORGOTTEN about the tribal thingy and FOCUSED on the murdered troops..Instead, we got a shout-out to someone and the murdered troops were an afterthought..
I can and will read his mind..he’s an a*shole to the Nth degree..period, end of statement..
The bigger the media buildup, the bigger the media fall. George Washington and Abraham Lincoln put together could not have lived up to the press buildup that President Obama got about a year ago.
I think there is truth to that. Its like he’s voting present
“Even” NBC notes the frightening lack of decorum empathy and gravitas by the manchild POTUS.
Who is “visiting the wounded” today at Walter Reed.
A “long scheduled” visit according to WH press secretary Baghdad Gibbs. His first visit to WR since taking office, I believe. Will he hit the gym while he is there?
In.Over.His.Head.
I watched the conference live yesterday and couldn’t believe it. He is supposed to be the commander in chief (as he felt necessary to remind us during the presser) and he had no emotion when speaking of American soliders murdered on their own soil. It was secondary to his native american event. I felt really sad for America at that moment.
I’m not surprised when I see a muslim terroist pig slaughter his brothers in arms. But I still shake my head at the utter senselessness of it all.
Further on in the article, it says that at a time like this, the country needs to see a focused commander in chief. I disagree. The country needs to see exactly what it elected to be the president, and the fact that Obama treated it like a guest appearance on MTV should tell the whole world that he’s a cheap pretender.
I don’t know what’s more pathetic... Pres__ent’s indifference to the Fort Hood victims and their families, or the liberal MSM propoganda lemmings who lament Zero’s perverted “priorities” as being a result of bad “advisors”.
The a$$ clown in chief is a despicable and vile individual, who’s only concern in life is himself.
like Bush spending 7 minutes at the school after hearing about the 9/11 Incident
excellent point
Ayers and Bernadine in their stylish home, must be quietly praising the brave Major Hasan for taking down so many “pigs”
I thought it 100 times more insensitive; the general way he handled the appearance.
He went on for quite awile, about the group he was adressing and their concerns. Saying nothing about the shootings the whole time.
Then as almost a after thought, he got around to the shootings and started talking about them.
Just like the space under the bus, the room left in his mouth for all the feet he has inserted is rapidly decreasing.
What a misfit! I guess he grew up in a ‘different’ culture over there in Indonesia.
Even tingles himself tried to make excuses. Saying it was his adviser’s fault.
Most if not all msm deleted the first two minutes of blah blah blah and skipped right to the shooting statement.
I was actually quoting from the article when I typed “who’s advising him???” ... I know full well who is advising the moron and it sickens me every day.
Reportedly, his original text was
“I wasn’t there, I don’t know what happened. But the US Military personel on hand acted stupidly when they shot Mr. Hassan.”
/sarc but with enough truth...
I think it was the wrong choice also. But I have no problem with Obama's words on the situation and at a time when American soldiers have just been murdered and are fighting for their lives, some might consider it an inappropriate time and situation to take what many mught consider nitpicking potshots at their commander-in-chief.
WE are over reacting to his flippant comments about the murder of our troops by a fellow muslim?
WE are over reacting??????????
Really!!!!!!!
Its like, after you watch 9/11 on tv, then expect the president to come on national tv to talk about the incident. Instead he spend 3 minutes on something else, and you’re wondering, um,, whats going on here, why isn’t he talking about the Fort Hood incident. That 3 minute was surreal
He knew for nearly two hours. Not time to formulate a statement?
That’s because he has no heart or soul when it comes to American troops.
I now refer to him as Present Occupant.
Yes or No answer required:
After his response to his statement yesterday where he waited 3 minutes to address the tragedy, do you consider criticism of him to be a “nit-picking potshot”????
