The article is from 2002 but unfortunately seems relevant once again given the tragedy at Fort Hood. It should serve as a reminder about the true intentions of Islam.

What is mine (
Dar al-Islam) is mine, what is yours (Dar al-Harb) is subject to conquest. What remains interesting in the historical record is that with the spotty exceptions of Southeast Asia and sub-Sahel Africa, all of Islam was won by 'blood and sword'. To doctrinaire Muslims, it appears to be an article of faith that once any place has become Muslim, it must remain forever Muslim. Thus Spain & Portugal must be reclaimed as well as all of the Balkans up to Austria and through Hungary. A very TOLERANT Religion of Peace, no?
