Obama's Frightening Insensitivity Following Shooting

A bad week for Democrats compounded by an awful moment for Barack Obama.

President Obama didn't wait long after Tuesday's devastating elections to give critics another reason to question his leadership, but this time the subject matter was more grim than a pair of governorships.

After news broke out of the shooting at the Fort Hood Army post in Texas, the nation watched in horror as the toll of dead and injured climbed. The White House was notified immediately and by late afternoon, word went out that the president would speak about the incident prior to a previously scheduled appearance. At about 5 p.m., cable stations went to the president. The situation called for not only his trademark eloquence, but also grace and perspective.

But instead of a somber chief executive offering reassuring words and expressions of sympathy and compassion, viewers saw a wildly disconnected and inappropriately light president making introductory remarks. At the event, a Tribal Nations Conference hosted by the Department of Interior's Bureau of Indian affairs, the president thanked various staffers and offered a "shout-out" to "Dr. Joe Medicine Crow -- that Congressional Medal of Honor winner." Three minutes in, the president spoke about the shooting, in measured and appropriate terms. Who is advising him?

Anyone at home aware of the major news story of the previous hours had to have been stunned.

I guarantee that, if I were in charge of his medical care, he would have bacon on every breakfast tray. He might not eat it — but he’d have to live with the smell...

I can only reply with what limited knowledge I have but it seems that this personality disorder is almost never treated with any success since narcissists are not going to come to a realization that they are sick.

The truth is that they really do despise themselves and lack self esteem to such a degree that only a mental breakdown gets them to a place of accepting help. Once there, professionals must carefully help them establish some sort of self esteem but then, of course, the disorder is once more fed and will blossom into the disorder once more! And there you have it...they are as narcissistic as ever!

As I understand it, the narcissist can, and often does, resort to violent behavior. Some, if not all, serial killers possess this disorder.

I think the notion that Obama has progressed to violence is only slightly premature. He seems hellbent on a World where he is "Supreme Leader" and I think he'll stop at nothing to get it.

If you ever watched Pinky and the Brain, maybe you recall the inevitable end to each episode as Pinky asks the Brain, "So, what are we going to do tonight, Brain?" Brain's reply was,"Same thing we always do,Pinky. TAKE OVER THE WORLD."

I wish I was a mental health care professional because I love to study and apply psychology to understand and support people, but I am not and therefore only offer my unskilled opinions and have no professional certifications to back them up.
I have, in the course of my life, HAD to learn quite a bit about cluster B personality disorders just to defend myself and I and many others on the web have always believed that Obama is textbook for at least one of them. He certainly fits the descriptions I have read for severe pathological narcissist personality disorder (NPD).
An estimated 10% of our population is believed to have one or more personality disorders ranging from mild to severe. I suspect that if you investigate any really damaging politician you often find at least one or more personality disorders which may accompany other ‘issues’ because the hallmark of a personality disorder is the lack of a conscience. Those with personality disorders may act as if they have a conscience but only if it fulfills their self image of themselves as a person with a conscience (it’s for show) - others with this disorder may perceive the possession of a conscience as a sign of weakness and will make no attempt to portray themselves as having one unless publicly taunted - at which point they act shocked...SHOCKED that someone could accuse them etc.

The problem with putting on this award (Nobel) winning act is that he grows tired of it and is angry when people point out flaws in his performance. It can get scarey. Narcissists have an ideal model of themselves that they maintain - they perceive this image as their very existance. Negative criticism or public failure puts this image (’life’) at risk. Rage wrapped in a survival instinct surfaces if their ‘self’ image is threatened by reality or rejection. If you look at the 10 months or so he’s been in office, he is losing his willingness to attempt to charm and is more often shown grimacing. He is likely to begin to slip and show an adversarial attitude toward his detractors and allies alike and we will see it more often. FOX is just the beginning. I think we will witness startling displays of temper and ponder over inexplicable and vengeful actions on his part, even against his own supporters, as he ‘fights’ to keep himself believing that he is as omnipotent as he thinks he is.
I believe that the reason he is not ‘leading the country’ or performing normal tasks undertaken by presidents is because, IMHO, he only has enough stamina to create and support the ‘life’ of his false image - he doesn’t see governing as worthy of his time. That’s why he says ‘time for talk has passed’ re healthcare - he doesn’t want to spend any time or energy on it it, he should just be able to tell us what to do and we should do it.
People willing to support this kind of person with zeal - like Rahm, are likely to also have this vengeful, controlling behavior. They are likely to have personality disorders too - it helps to lack a conscience if you are going to swim with sharks. We get the feeling THEY ‘aren’t listening to us’ re healthcare etc. but the truth is - we don’t count as humans to them. They are playing on a much bigger playing field of control and survival (maintaining images of themselves as powerful and superior) and they will tirelessly, IMHO, struggle to control us and punish as as we disobey. It won’t be pretty. Reality is gaining on them.

Oh my gosh!
Dear Leader is The Brain and Joe Biden is Pinky.

LMAO!!!

“Are you pondering what I’m pondering, Pinky?”

“I think so, but how will we get the Klingons to wear rubber pants?”

They’re Pinky and The Brain
Yes, Pinky and The Brain
One is a genius
The other’s insane.
They’re laboratory mice
Their genes have been spliced
They’re dinky
They’re Pinky and The Brain, Brain, Brain, Brain
Brain, Brain, Brain, Brain
Brain.

Before each night is done
Their plan will be unfurled
By the dawning of the sun
They’ll take over the world.

They’re Pinky and The Brain
Yes, Pinky and The Brain
Their twilight campaign
Is easy to explain.
To prove their mousey worth
They’ll overthrow the Earth
They’re dinky
They’re Pinky and The Brain, Brain, Brain, Brain
Brain, Brain, Brain, Brain
Narf!

I agree with you that Obama said the wrong things, in the wrong way, at the wrong time. He is not only clueless, his entire staff is also clueless since he had a whole day to prepare the remarks he made in his radio address, today.

Wish I had read your post before I wrote mine! Love it. Have you heard of Sam Vaknin? He is the ‘famous’ narcissist. He’s not hard to find on the web because, as a narcissist, he wants to be seen as the worlds leading expert on narcissism - and this according to his own words. Sam has many excellent articles - one in which he describes how narcissists feel about other people (paraphrasing here: ‘you are an appliance to me. If you got cancer and stopped serving me I would be as angry as if my refrigerator stopped working’) is particularly chilling. Sam makes the point that he is unusual, very unusual, in that he is self aware - he understands his illness and the damage he causes others to an exacting degree but that awareness does not bring healing.
At some point I was desperate to find a source of healing for a loved one who has this illness. I railed against the field of psychology for turning their backs on those with personality disorders -don’t the sick deserve a doctor? If we can heal these lost souls, they improve and they stop damaging others. WIN- WIN!
But I came to the crushing discovery that science does not know how to build a personality once it is destroyed. The damage is supposedly done to the forming self between the ages of 2 and 4 years. Repair work must be accomplished by the age of 18 (I think this seems like an almost arbitrary ethical limit) after which, they are viewed as incurable. They are indeed treatable (not curable) and can improve their quality of life drastically by learning tools that help them interact with others. But that is for those who will face the ordeal (it’s very hard for them to examine the smoking crater where their personality used to be before it was destroyed in childhood) of counseling.
Obama does not want counseling. Obama wants dominion. Soon after the election, one of his lackys was taken to task for gaily speaking about how “Obama is ready to rule...” I have always believed she was not speaking out of hand but that she was quoting him and that he is so damaged he was not able to understand how we might object or why. *shudder*

Excellent. Thank you for this info. It really creeps me out but seems correct. So on target it’s creepy. It must be crushing for you to encounter children with this illness. Heartbreaking...and then infuriating.

As you can see, the topic is of great interest to me so I was very pleased to hear your take on this (e.g., students). It took me so long to write my wordy thing that I missed reading yours before I posted so I could have shortened mine - your psychiatrist source had a neat, concise and powerful way to to describe the illness that I’ll file away to refer to again later.
One thing I wanted to add (yikes - more of my writing! - I know, but the topic interests me and I dread what may come next!) was the idea of pettiness. Every now and then an MSN will point out a petty action by Obama and co., and the disobedient talking heads may even mention it. I believe that these petty acts show where Obama’s primary interests are invested. In other words - petty to us is primary to Obama. Small slaps at naughty journalists etc. are, in Obama’s world, the repelling of evil enemies threatening his very life (image of himself).

Gosh, I miss those two guys! (Pinky and The Brain, of course)

Can't you just see the possibilities featuring the other two...in that "giant robot" suit Brain wore while Pinky controlled the movements?

(You know it's really funny if you're laughing out loud and there's no one but you there.)

Kudos to Drudge for putting up this telling picture of the current resident of our W.H.

It says EVERYTHING about Barry and the makeup of the man.

Right back at you with much appreciation. As for the student, (I laugh as I write)you can not believe how many dozens of cookies and other assorted "thank-yous" I received from the parents in gratitude for my tolerance in trying to deal with their child. They seemed to be only slightly over the top with indulging him and just could not see the problem was not his precocious nature. They reasoned because he had a superior intellect, these things were bound to happen...what can I say?

I am so upset about this. I cannot even speak. I cannot stand him. I can’t stand to listen or look at him. I am going to be constantly sick for the next three years. This Ft. Hood massacre and his response is the last straw.

If this is true and he is paralyzed, I hate to say it but I'm glad. I am a Christian who loves the Lord more than anything but I am so upset about Ft. Hood and this dirt bag in the White House that I have to ask my Jesus for forgiveness every day. I hope the Lord understands that my human frailties are getting the best of me right now. I can't stand this piece of crap.

We’ve just got to get someone to put Obama’s and Biden’s faces on these. I wish I could do photoshop well enough to do it.
