It would be appropriate to let him know how much we appreciate his vote. Not for the value of the vote, but because he gave the Dhims cover to say that it was "bipartisan."

He can always say that the language of the bill was confusing and he though a ‘For’ vote was really and ‘Against’ vote.
Then again he could use the tried and true, ‘I voted for it before I voted against it.’ The righteous Congressional way.

Cao's YEA vote for PelosiCare is just unconscionable. It was my understanding that the 177 Republicans were standing strong and united AGAINST PelosiCare.

He thinks he has to. He’s in a highly rat district formerly held by the corrupt William Jefferson. Most voters in his district would never vote for him again unless he gives them a few bones to chew on.

I just sent this traitor the following email (though it might get kicked since I'm not in his state):
I live in Tennessee. Although I am among your constituents, your vote for the government take-over of my health care is an abomination.
When you next run for office, I will do everything in my power to support your opponent, including campaign contributions and helping in any way to compaign against you.
And I am NOT alone!

"Cao's YEA vote for PelosiCare is just unconscionable."What if the vast majority of the people in his district wanted him to vote 'yes'? Knowing that district, I'd say that is a pretty safe assumption.

Don’t be foolish. As a prior resident of New Orleans, I can tell you he was “allowed” to vote that way once the dims had the votes needed +1, if it had been a close vote he would not have been allowed to be the vote to give them victory.
Repub leadership held him back until his vote was no longer needed. This gives him cover next year when he needs to get reelected in a largely minority city.

The difference between the Dims and the GOP. The Dims are afraid to cross their leadership. Not the ‘Pubbies. I want to see what the GOP does to “Marvin the ARVN” because he gave Il Douche his fig leaf. My bet. Nothing.

Just trying to save his own sorry ass in his 80% minority district.
Uh, no. He's just trying to land a gig after he inevitably loses that seat, and was probably promised one by Obama (who has been courting him for all sorts of things since he won the seat).
I'll be surprised if he even tries to run again, as an R or a D - no way would he win a primary dominated by black voters.
To: markomalley
“Treason” is a little over the top, don’t you think?
Note a few things:
1. He voted the wishes of his constituents, not his party leaaders. Have we not been bitching since last summer about the Congressmen who don’t vote the way their constituents want as opposed to the Dem leadership ?
2. 39 Dems voted against the bill. Are they traitors, too?
3. Cho’s vote was at the last second, when the Dems already had their votes, so it was ok’s by the R leadership who understood his position vis a vis his constituents.
A House vote is only one step. It will be harder to pass in the Senate. Everyone ought to take a deep breath.
