WASHINGTON - The glow from a health care triumph faded quickly for President Barack Obama on Sunday as Democrats realized the bill they fought so hard to pass in the House has nowhere to go in the Senate.

..................

The problem is that the Senate won't run with it. The government health insurance plan included in the House bill is unacceptable to a few Democratic moderates who hold the balance of power in the Senate.

I like your thoughts on this...I was thinking about the way that “God works in mysterious ways”. Perhaps this has to come to pass? So many people have lost touch with God in this country that perhaps this is a way to bring people back to him. Maybe this has to happen, for a short time anyway...until we can get the bill repealed, if it gets passed.

A time of prayer with fellow FReepers would be great!

QUOTE: If Harry Reid can count on 51 solid votes he may detonate the reconcilation nuclear option, attach the entire House Bill, as is, to some other legislation, pass and fed ex the bastard straight to White House where Obama will sign it in a Chicago second.

Agreed. Hume, et al are correct that this bill won't pass the Senate, but there is a danger that some form of it will and then it will be brought to reconciliation for a 51 vote approval. This back door is a real possibility because I don't think it can even be filibustered.

“Hope this article is on target, but we opponents of this bill can’t afford to let our guard down. Remember that the House wasn’t supposed to pass it following the “no” message the ‘Rats were supposed to have received from the voters on Election Day”

I agree 100% ... the Democrats just drink the koolaid about how America really wants this and are liable to actually pass this and throw their majority to the winds.

I think the House realized that if they did nothing, that it would slip into 2010.

I want a roll-call vote of the Senate on an amendment to strip the health care bill of criminal provisions for failure to engage in a "free market" transaction.

Agreed. Maybe we can contact the offices of a few staunch opponents of the bill and ask them if they could introduce such an amendment. Then we can separate the wheat from the chaff.

Thanks for the ping!

Always figured it would get through the house but still believe it won’t pass in the senate.

I wouldn’t trust any of them in the Senate. All of them can be bought with maybe 2 or 3 exceptions. This government is now out of control and is totally disconnected from the citizens. We need to act and act no wand act strong. Tea Parties were laughed at and Town Halls were blown off. Time to take this to a new level. Some of us now are talking about a National Strike..a week of outrage ..let me know if you’re interested.
I need someone who is a good writer to help draft a letter to other conservatives to work in solidarity with all groups . Email me if tyou can write.

That’s what they want you to believe so you don’t ‘pester’ them with your opinionated calls, emails etc.

I believe they are covered under the Pelosi House bill that passed last night, which the MSM won't want you to know. I don't know about the Senate bill, since there have been more than one drafted in committee and none has passed the Senate as yet.
