Now I understand: Creationism vs. Evolution

Posted on 11/09/2009 12:31:42 PM PST by Cousin Eddie

Figures that I would learn this from my wife (who heard it from another woman):

A little girl asked her mother, "How did the human race appear?"

The mother answered, "God made Adam and Eve and they had children, and so all mankind was made."

Two days later the girl asked her father the same question.

The father answered, "Many years ago there were monkeys from which the human race evolved."

The confused girl returned to her mother and said, "Mom, how is it possible that you told me the human race was created by God, and Dad said they developed from monkeys?"

The mother answered, "Well, dear, it is very simple. I told you about my side of the family and your father told you about his."

If you believe there is a God or “Higher Being” then you believe he/she somehow created all of this.

If you don’t believe their is a God, then you must believe that all mass and the life combination of materials contained there in came from some infinitely tiny particle containing an infinite amount of mass that went bang.

Either way it takes faith to understand where we came from.

How do you know what it was at first?

Was it always a virus or was it once an acorn?

Which came first? The virus or the acorn?

After all, Evolutionists dont know what came when, revise their family tree once each generation, sometimes twice, have dismissed EVERY known hominid fossil found between 1800 and 1970 with the one exception of LUCY, whenever that was, and tried to say that even though they dismissed all that evidence, they were right, when they now admit they were wrong.

And you expect somehting like a virus adapting to it’s environment by weeding out weaker virus strains as evidence that humans came from pond scum?

Please, go home, Evolutionary logic is more religious than Creation, At least Creation admits it takes God to start it all...

Was it the chicken or the egg that came first

When this world was made?

Well, on the third day God made chickens and the other birds

Before any eggs were laid.

It takes more faith to believe evolution

Your pardon I must beg.

You see, Adam didn’t have no belly button,

And God didn’t lay no egg.

C. 1997 The Blue Collar Christian

The Christians on this thread will not win anyone over to the creation side by insulting the evolutionists and atheists. Believe me, I walked in their shoes for a long time. Only the LORD can change them, and you guys are not the LORD. Be kind to all. Pray for revival.

Now if I can just manage that myself...

Oh, that's right...{smacks forehead}...we evolved from pond scum.

Or made out of dirt?

Evolutionists [...] have dismissed EVERY known hominid fossil found between 1800 and 1970 with the one exception of LUCY

Um, no.

But really, Race, you are a gas. You have a knack for getting things so absolutely and utterly wrong as to stagger the reader, and then adding to that the most amusingly elegant filigrees and codas of wrongness.

For instance, although there are plenty of pre-1970 hominid fossils which retain that status, the "one exception" you allow was discovered AFTER 1970.

And you assert everything you write with a supremely unassailable air of superiority and self confidence which lifts the unintended humor, somehow, from the merely slapstick to the sublime.

LOL! I mean, if an evolutionist was consciously trying to create a satirical version of the ultimate clueless creationist's rant, they could never come up with anything remotely approaching in sheer hilarity what flows effortlessly from your keyboard.

I write this not in insult, but in awe. On this subject you have mastered ignorance to such a degree that it becomes a kind of genius.

The Bible never said that.

So, which creationist? The same animists like Richard Dawkins?

These creationist vs. evolutionist debates are, from my viewpoint, a lot of fun so long as you keep your humor about you.

“yeah, right
Piltdown man
Peking Man
Java Man”

—I’m not sure why you bring up Peking and Java Man. They are simply examples of Homo erectus fossils and haven’t been “dismissed”. Homo erectus finds have been around for 120 years, Homo heidelbergensis for over 100 years, Homo habilis and Autralopithecus anamensis for about 50 years, etc, and none have been dismissed. So not sure where you get the idea that everything before 1970 has been dismissed.
Piltdown Man is far more of an exception than Lucy.

Thanks for your service in the Marines. Happy Veteran’s Day!

thank you for thanking me, but my gosh, Evolution is so far from actual science it is a fairy tale!

The complexity of the cell alone, the faithfulness of DNA replication, there is no excuse a thinking rational human can believe in evolution over God.

Though they can be fun, provided we use humor, it is a very serious debate; whether one accepts the authority of God or not. An insult to an evolutionist will not draw him or her nearer to God. What non-believer in his right mind would want to be like the Christian that insults him?

yeah, right
Piltdown man
Peking Man
Java Man

yeah, right! LOL!!

While Piltdown Man was indeed a hoax, Peking Man and Java Man are perfectly good hominids. Both are valid examples of the species Homo erectus.

But then this could be explained to you a hundred times, a thousand times (as I'm certain it has been dozens) and documented in the most painstaking detail, without having the slightest effect on your knowledge of the subject.

Your ignorance is unassailable and pristine. It remains as soft and fresh and new as a baby's butt, no matter how many times you messed yourself and needed your diapers changed. It's an idiocy evergreen! One should almost write a song about it.

Oh, pleeeze, here you go again!

PEKING MAN only existed in written form for decades! The original bones were LOST to any modern forensic analysis as to where they came from or how they got there, and knowing they came from a trash pit to being with, you have NO IDEA what fits with what in the first place!

You have NO IDEA how many animals bones are mixed up in that ashheap, you have NO IDEA just what it looked like, yet you demand to call it science!

Next thing, you’ll be telling me flogiston still exists!

you have NO IDEA just what it looked like

Photographs had been taken. (Even xrays.) Casts had been made and distributed to scientists all around the world. More material was found at the same site after the war. (Included part of skull cap that mated with the cast of a peice from the lost material.) And in any case we have other asian Homo erectus from other sites.

But, despite the photos, casts, xrays, measurements and post war fossils, we just have NO IDEA. NO IDEA at all.

Photo and x-ray of one of the Peking Man skulls, but don't let these go giving you NO IDEAs:

Drawing of the mating pre and post war skull fossils. (All figures from this article:

BTW, I recall hearing this past spring that the original Peking Man casts produced in the 1930s are being digitized and reproduced using the latest and most advanced virtual imaging and 3-D printing techinques.

Are you saying that Michelangelo KNEW Adam had a belly button?

I think even you know that though Michelfreak’nangelo lived a long, long time ago, he wasn’t there with Adam, so this is an artist’s interpretation of a scene. My little poem is also an artist’s interpretation of what I believe to be so. To believe in creation, it would only make sense that Adam, having never been in the womb, would not have had an umbilical cord, and thus not a belly button either.

Of course, if he was born of some other species, as an evolutionist believes, he would then have had a belly button, as our renaissance artist’s interpretation depicts. Maybe Michelangelo was ahead of his time and tipped Darwin off with this photograph.

Re: the painting on the ceiling of the Sistine Chapel-I would bet too, that God probably doesn’t grow a beard, but that would just be a guess. No scripture to support it one way or the other.

Why do you resort to cyberbully namecallng tactics. I am not your enemy. I’m stating how I believe and doubt the belief of the evolutionist, which was the gist of this thread. Neither of us has proof, only faith. My opinion stands, I think Michelangelo painted a belly button where there was none. We don’t have to fix the ceiling, or my poem, for that matter.
