Thanks for the information as to the contents of the lethal injection.

What I had read is only that it would be painless.

At 8:30 they’re going to provide him an H1N1 shot, just in case.

I was working in Reston, VA at the time. EVERYONE was terrified. I toyed with the idea of keeping my Remington .270 in my car but thought that the cops would mistake me for the sniper. That idiot Chief Moose telling the publik that is HAD to be a couple of white guys.

I didn't change my routine, but was way more aware of what was happening around me.

Guess I'll have to do my happy dance once the vermin is dead. (My apologies to vermin everywhere.)

Does he get one to prevent him from feeling the pain of the needles or does the Sodium thiopental do that? God forbid he suffer such terrible treatment.

They should perform the procedure without the sodium thiopental.

One of the oft-asked questions is do they wipe the arm down with alcohol before starting the IV’s - God forbid he should get an infection - I’ve never seen this definitively answered but I’d have to say I’d be surprised if this were not done. I have heard of cases where finding a vein was next to impossible. I’d be glad to stick the drugs under the xiphoid process directly into the heart if called upon to do so - would require a fairly long needle though - on the order of 5 or 6 inches would do the trick I think. Would want to draw back on the syringe first to make sure one was in a cardiac chamber.

Kaine has only commuted 1 of 8 or 9 executions since his election.

Michael Ruane: Folks: We have just learned that the Supreme Court has denied Muhammad's request to stay his execution, which appears to clear the way for his death by lethal injection Tuesday night.

Vienna, Va.: So the Supreme Court has denied the stay, so that leaves only Kaine as the only option for Mohammad. Although he has said previously he could not see a way he would grant a stay, has he said so definitively?
Michael Ruane: I am not sure, but I am told that his intervention is unlikely.

Think he’ll get a governor’s stay or a presidential pardon?

Nope. A presidential pardon is impossible, since he's convicted of a state crime.

I'm not pro-death penalty, but having lived through the fear I don't think I'll protest this one.

I know that this is splitting hairs, but it hacks me off
when someone like this is called a “sniper”. He was just
a whacko with a rifle.

I didn’t live here then (I was actually living with my parents in the Raleigh area, hubby is and was active duty army, and he was in the process of moving to Germany...we didn’t get to follow until Jan). Hubby was at Ft Lee (he flew out to Germany 2 days before the snipers were caught). However, I live here now (in Prince William Co). Our next door neighbor lived here then...she is a single mom, she drove out towards Front Royal to get out of the city-ish areas to get gas. Her son, who was then about 10, was not allowed outside to play. My heart breaks for the loss of his childhood innocence.

I heard that the loons who believe he should be allowed to live out his natural life are out...I must assume that they either didn’t live here back then, or they truly are loons...
no disrespect is intended to the feathery loons. :)

Don’t know that he’s eligible for a presidential pardon. It was a state crime.
