Virginia Gov. Timothy M. Kaine (D) denied clemency for John Allen Muhammad on Tuesday, clearing the way for the sniper to be executed by lethal injection at 9 p.m. and putting an end to one of the most trying local criminal cases in U.S. history.
Muhammad, 48, was convicted of capital murder in the slaying of Dean Harold Meyers on Oct. 9, 2002, at a gas station outside of Manassas, part of a spree that left 10 people dead in the Washington area and included shootings in several other states. A jury in Virginia Beach, where the trial was moved to get an impartial panel, sentenced Muhammad to death nearly six years ago.

I don’t think he expressed a choice. When no choice is made, lethal injection is the method used (in VA).

Interesting that WaPo chose to identify Kaine’s party. If the story had been something negative about Kaine that the WaPo was forced to write, you can bet there wouldn’t have been a “D” after his name.

I was leaning toward a firing squad at 2500 yards. I’m thinking a few near misses would be instrumental in this guy grasping what he did to others.
Eventually someone would end it with a great shot. I wouldn’t want to see that hurried. Thirty or forty shots within a foot or two would be instructional.
I agree. Lethal injection is too good for him.
If I could pick a way for him to be executed I’d let all the victims families take pot shots at him with a .22 till he was dead.
