Isn’t that GREAT! Someone had forwarded that clip to me a few days ago, as a matter of fact! Just watching it ... hey, I’m in pretty good shape; I swim more than a mile a day three to five days a week usually, but watching those girls ... if I tried that, I’d keel over with a heart attack after about three minutes!!!

Wasn’t it FUN? It’s a Naval Academy half-time performance. Love the guys in the background. 4th-8th grade girls ~ Google ‘Firecrackers Jump rope team’ and see more. It all started in Ohio with a creative gym teacher.

Talk about wholesome, and, well, GAY!

Remember when ‘gay’ meant a spiritual quality ~ something akin to pure joy?
Unperverted, non-sexual, child-friendly, guileless...

Ok, conspiracy theory here.

No one needs approval as a Mormon to run for public office. I could decide to run for any position. I need no approval. This is silly. When Romney was running for president, indeed most Mormons I knew felt that he was the best person for the job. In Sunday School we talked about what might be the good points and bad points if a Mormon were President of the United States.

No one in authority EVER said we should vote for him. No Bishop, Stake President, Apostle, or Prophet has EVER hinted at who we should vote for. That is a private decision.

The church will often take a position for or against different legislation.

The only thing I have ever heard said was when Bush was running for president and someone said you should vote for the person who is going to be humble enough to get on his knees and ask Almighty God for guidance to lead this great nation. Honestly I don't even remember who said that.

As far as Romney is concerned, meeting with the Prophet is not so extra ordinary. He meets with people every day. I would not be surprised if he has met with all of the Mormons in the congress, or senate at one time or another. I would not doubt if he has met with the Prophet several times in his life. In no way does that mean he takes orders from the Prophet regarding which way he leads Massachusetts. Please!

Conspiracy theorists unite.

There is already whole sale polygamy out in the open, but it is not condoned by the LDS church. In fact, Utah will prosecute polygamists far more quickly than neighbor states like New Mexico, Arizona, and Nevada.

Homosexuality will always be considered a sin. Gay will always be excommunicated from the church. In fact, those who attempt to practice polygamy are also excommunicated from the LDS church.

Polygamy is not something that LDS Mormons ever want to come back. For those types you have to look at sects that have split from the LDS church.

On a personal note, I don’t know how those old Polygamists could do it. My one wife is plenty for me. Two would be impossible. Twenty something would be its own hell.

Ok, conspiracy theory here.

Don't start your conspiracy nonsense. If you don't keep up with the news then that is your problem, not ours, you are merely displaying your ignorance.

Sunstone magazine reported the meeting with "the prophet" and it's purpose in 2005.

I don't see any strong positions on this issue emanating from local Catholic bishops, let alone the Vatican. And no state is more Catholic than gay-loving Massachusetts.

I guess I just don't see any reason for a superior attitude.

Actually the REAL LDS Inc does practice polygamy as instructed and demostrated by their founder, Joey Smith...

and written in their Doctrines and Covenants 132, which is the Everlasting Covenant, the First principal, the only waty to godhood, and godhood the only way to the mormon afterlife...

The mormons say that anything outside polygamy...ie monogamy, one man, one woman, is prostitution...

D&C 132 has NEVER been rescinded...Joey Smith claimed it was given to him by one of the mormon gods and MUST be practiced ALWAYS...

Joey Smith claimed that the mormon god said any mormon man not practicing polygamy forever would be excommunicated as an apostate...

The REAL LDS is also called FLDS... the offshoot lds is only an lds...

Since the LDS in SLC pretend not to practice polygamy or dont, they are disobeying the profit Joey Smith and therefore the mormon god and are not “following the profit” and are therefore not REAL mormons...or REAL LDS...

Unless they “follow the profit” the mormons cant get a temple recommend...and if they cant get a temple recommend they are barred and /or barred from going to the mormon god pagan temple or “church”...

Curistians dont ban people from church but mormons bar and ban people from the mormon “church”

anthing difference between mormonism and Christianity...

You are one twisted freak. Unknot yourself and get some breath.

You certainly aren't doing Christianity any favors with rants like that.

What we learned during the heat of the FLDS threads was that Utah is actually a safe sanctuary for polygamists and that Shurtleff was making noise and putting out smoke to help maintain the front that you claim but that he was actually protecting the polygamists of Utah, our most polygamist state, where it is an institution.

I rarely come to threads like this because I hate to wade through the nasty muck spewed by people who apparently despise Mormons. I don’t understand this most recent action by the leadership of the Mormon church, but the Mormons I know are the most rock-solid patriots I have ever met. God bless them. Hang in there. Not all FReepers are like some the freaks who frequent these threads.

Is there anything LESS ‘gay’ ~ less pure & fresh & cheerful & wholesome & innocent ~ than the homosexual movement?

The activist homosexual agenda has declared jihad on America, mesmerizing the gullible into believing that political correctness is holy.

Didn’t work at Fort Hood and won’t work in Salt Lake.

Utah and Mormons have a very low military enlistment rate.

There ya go again...

Confusing your groups of “Christianities”...

The Jesus of the Christianity of the Bible said stuff like “Whited sepucalars” and vipers” ...

so the mormons (Pharisses) of Jesus day called him a “twist freak”...

And then Jesus would came back with stuff like ...

You are of your father the devil, and the lusts of your father you will do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and abode not in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaks a lie, he speaks of his own: for he is a liar, and the father of it. Luke b:44
