The intent of the Catholic landlord is fidelity to his faith.”

And the intent of the mormon landlord is fidelity to his mormon leaders...

And their intent is fidelity to the bottom line. Whatever will effect the money flow is the doctrine of the day...

So first you denied equating Catholic doctrine to the bigotry of KKK’s racism, and now you do! Thus, it must follow the Catholic Catechism that our hypothetical landlord seeks to follow is bigoted. Why didn’t you say so at the very beginning of this exchange that would then have taken us on an entirely different path debating the merits of Catholic doctrine versus that of the Mormons?

So on your next point about “good references” do you include moral references? I guess you do. In which case, surely a landlord has not only the right to reject an application by homosexuals to rent his apartment, but the demands of religious conscience requires no less of him. And, this you want to deny him?

Now that would be not truly be an enlightening conclusion, would it not?

A) For a long time God only permitted the sons of Levi to be priests. Do you then call God bigoted against the rest of humanity, or sexist for not allowing women to be priests? No. There is no inherent right to be a priest, it is a privilege.

Consider however the history of so many other churches over the same time. They segregated blacks out of their congregations into ‘black churches’ that continue to this day, they said blacks did not have a soul or were not covered by the atonement, they openly supported the abuse and enslavement of blacks as being God’s will.

B) It isn’t fornication or adultery when you are married to the woman.

C) That’s the kind of class envy garbage I’d expect from a liberal. There is nothing in this runs counter to the longstanding position of the church that gays should not be mistreated.

If you actually look at the wording of the thing, it isn’t about discrimination against gays, but it is opposing discrimination based on sexual orientation, gay or straight. It also exempts churches and other religious organizations and protects their rights.

Being a lesbian is not legitimate grounds to not rent to them, just as being black would not be legitimate grounds.

Yet being polygamous is cause for excommunication from the non-scriptural following LDS group based in SLC.

Go figger!

Yeah, I miss Resty.

1 Samuel 28:15
Samuel said to Saul, "Why have you disturbed me by bringing me up?"
"I am in great distress," Saul said. "The Philistines are fighting against me, and God has turned away from me. He no longer answers me, either by prophets or by dreams. So I have called on you to tell me what to do."

how do you feel about the mormons justifying their bigotry against blacks for 150 years ???

That's NOTHING!

We Ladies of the Church have been stuck in limbo longer than that!

So the male mormons have no right to the priesthood...

So tell me again why male mormons wont let the females have that same privilege ???

Why the male mormons are sexist bigots ???
