Oh, I don’t disagree about the rampant hypocrisy and double standards going on here. However, such has never bothered the left before, and won’t in the future. At the end of the day, she entered the Miss California pagent and said she didn’t have racy pics. She did. And she only has herself to blame for that. For comparison, I applied for admission to the Naval Academy and for Navy ROTC my senior year in High School (didn’t get into the former, did get the latter). And I could truthfully state that I had never done illegal drugs. If you are going into a program with restrictions, you need to be aware of such and adhere to such.

I do agree with your premise.

When she was called to make the statement, I don’t believe the video she provided to the boy friend had been made public. I don’t know exactly how long it had been in his posession, but I believe it was three years. If I were her, I would think the video had been watched and destroyed by then, it not having been made public before. If someone asked me, I’d say it wasn’t out there.

If the question was, are there any nude photos or video in public that will come back to haunt us, I believe she would have been honest in saying no. If she had modeled for an agency and those weren’t made public to her knowledge, I don’t think she would be wrong to deny they were in the public domain either.

The question at this point goes to someone trying to trip her up so hard, that they would go to a private source to make such a video or pictures public. If dollars were exchanged to change her answers to a lie, it would seem that would be actionable.

If that’s what they did, I would find it actionable.

If the video and pictures had remained private prior to her question, it would seem that someone tried awfully hard to defame her. If money changed hands in that effort, wouldn’t it seem like she would have recourse.

I would think those photos were taken under certain pretenses. If the original intent was breached, it would seem she could go after them.

That she hasn’t may be your best defense too.

David Letterman is pursing an extortion/blackmail criminal case against a man for attempting to sell him a script outlining his workplace affairs.

Carrie was blackmailed into submission in this case (agree to set the case aside and the video is not leaked, except it already is leaked since TMZ has it).
