Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano said Friday that the Obama administration will push for “immigration reform” by giving the estimated 14 million people who are in the United States illegally “fair pathway to earned legal status.”
“A tough and fair pathway to earned legal status will mandate that illegal immigrants meet a number of requirements—including registering, paying a fine, passing a criminal background check, fully paying all taxes and learning English,” Napolitano said Friday at a panel discussion at the liberal Center for American Progress in Washington, D.C.
“These are substantial requirements that will make sure this population gets right with the law,” Napolitano said. “It will help fix our broken system.”
Napolitano said the Obama administration is working to end the recession and put Americans back to work but said giving legal status to illegal aliens will “strengthen our economy.”
“Requiring illegal immigrants to register to earn legal status, as I discussed earlier, will strengthen our economy as these immigrants become full-paying taxpayers,” Napolitano said. “As labor leaders have made clear to me, immigration reform will be a boon to American workers.
“Think about it: unions will never achieve the best terms for workers when a large part of the workforce is illegal and operates in a shadow economy,” Napolitano said. “By contrast, the status quo not only hurts American workers, it also stifles potential opportunities to grow our economy.”
Napolitano said that she has seen a “major shift” in the immigration landscape, which the Obama administration hopes will make it easier for Congress to pass new immigration laws.

Conservatives, throughout the entire U.S., seriously need to plan to move to other countries and really try to create conservatism in other countries. With amnesty for illegal immigrants, socialized medicine, cap and trade, higher taxes, and even bigger government eventually becoming the permanent laws of the U.S., it probably will be several decades of third world socialism that exists throughout the U.S., before it eventually attempts to move towards conservatism. It really will be too late by November ‘10.

In short - 12 to 14 million current illegal aliens granted Amnesty equals to 60 to 90 million more so called ‘blood’ relatives allowed to immigrate into the U.S. over 20 years...
And - what if the actual number of illegal aliens is 20 to 35 million ...? If so - then chain migration would allow another 90 to 130 million new immigrants over 20 years...

Also - please recall that our U.S. Senate debated and allowed in the 2007 attempt at total Amnesty - that illegal aliens granted amnesty would be allowed social security benefits ‘earned’ using stolen Social Security Numbers...

Early next year they’ll grant amnesty and register them to vote.
All the independents, moderates and conservative Democrats who gave Obammie the Commie the benefit of the doubt, will vote against him in 2012. But it won’t matter because their votes will be dwarfed by the number of new voters who will vote for Obammie the Commie.

Obammie the Commie, during one of his propaganda sessions, reduced the number of those without health coverage from 27 million to 30 million. Why? Because he dropped out the number of illegals.
So, they know damn well there are at least 17 million.
And that 17 million will dwarf the number of people who voted for Obammie the Commie in 2010 and ensure the same commie admin wins in 2012.
This is the reason for their brazen bird-flipping to mainstream Americans.

If it were up to me, we would have a government that could accurately determine US labor needs and issue visas and work permits accordingly, while enforcing workplace rules regarding hiring of illegals, and controlling the border.
I know it’s probably ridiculous to think that way ...
Since that is ridiculous with the current personnel, by all means let government reward itself for it’s failure to do any of the above by gaining 15 or 20 million new dependents, just in time for free health care and all the big government hand holding an uneducated non-English speaking underclass will need.
