Which bothers you worse?

Obama listening to Kissinger on Iran, or Obama following the Powell Doctrine on Afghanistan?

In retrospect, and considering the republican election blood baths of 2006 and 2008, do you think that Bush should have followed the Powell Doctrine before he invaded Iraq?

Any President listening to Kissinger or Powell bothers me. Neither gentleman is on my book of wise men of honor.

"In retrospect, and considering the republican election blood baths of 2006 and 2008, do you think that Bush should have followed the Powell Doctrine before he invaded Iraq?"

Nope. He should have surged sooner and then finished the job he started and taken care of Iran. He had 'em surrounded, and now that's been squandered by Obama. He should have also responded more muscularly to the media's slanders and untruths.

But you're not going to get anywhere with me or most on this board by extolling the virtues of Kissinger and especially that soft-headed monument to Affirmative Action, Powell.

Last week Netanyahu told Barry what date to enter into his

BlackBerry calendar.

No pictures were taken at the meeting because Barry turned white at the news.

Bad news for you and Chaney.

Bush did convene the Iraq Study Group and they wrote the exit strategy for Iraq. They also made the Gitmo policy changes.

Gates went from the Iraq Study Group to Sec of Defense.

Bush did abandon Scooter Libby to die on the political battlefield.

The NeoCons are out and the Realists are in.

At least we agree on something.

I appreciate your thoughtful analysis, but disagree. I think Obama sees himself as a revolutionary for radical “progressivism” and sees his role to be the President who ended American imperialism. Therefore I donKt think he would ever do as you suggest he might.

The clock is ticking on the Israeli military option.
They know zero is a muzzie and he is only stalling for time to givechis muzzie brothers in Iran the bomb

WWIII is just around the corner

Israel will never strike without the green light from the US. It’s over, Iran is going to get the bomb, and we are going to lose in Afghanistan. It’s just the way it is.

Obama will hit Iran hard, very hard.

Your arguments are cogent and compelling. They would apply to almost any very liberal President, even one who was as close to being a hardcore leftist as Carter was.

But to a President who isn't just very liberal, isn't just close to being hard left, but unequivocally is hard left, who is a genuine extremist? I'm not so sure.

It certainly appears at present, like leftist extremists generally for the past 30 or 40 years, that Obama wants to see America humbled. I think it's at least possible, if not probable, that he wants it so bad he'll allow his own humiliation in the process. (Plus, he may be incapable of seeing it that way anyhow.)

I think what’s really significant about this report is the fact that the Israelis know zero wants to keep it quiet or at least downplay it yet they (Israelis) are talking about it openly and loudly. So, lol (not a laughing matter, I know), not only did Tehran give zero the finger but so are the Israelis.

Epic failure. Zero’s weakness is going to get a shooting war started between Iran and Israel. The administration and the press will try to blame Israel, but it’s really zero’s failure to take a strong position against Iran that will unleash the dogs of war in this dispute.

I disagree. Zero has made his position clear, even though he’s done so indirectly. He has taken the coward’s way out, which is to blame our friend, Israel, instead of the guilty party. Further, he’s alienating Pakistan to such a degree that they stand to became a partner to Iran if a shooting war breaks out between Iran and Israel.

Zero’s weakness is going to get a shooting war started between Iran and Israel.

Since the ref in the game, the US, is no longer keeping the players apart it seems like the logical conclusion, doesn't it?

zer0 thinks it will just reduce Israel's power. It will actually get way out of control if we allow this to fester, and short of defending Israel there are lots of arab countries that want to smack Iran down a few pegs, too.
