Truthfully Sarah, there are times you should be advised to keep your mouth shut. The last coupld of days you have sounded less than Presidential.

Sarah Palin needs to put a clamp on her mouth regarding her family and home life.

I don't want to hear it anymore.

Pssssst Sarah, next time don’t let your teenage daughter be alone with a boy. As a rule nature will take its course...

I no longer have any sympathy for her when it comes to attacks on her family. She brings it up, so it's fair game.

I don't think she will run for president. She seems to be running to be the next Oprah, at which she could be extraordinary. (Or the anti-Oprah.) President? I never saw her as presidential, though I do like her, and now, I think she's such damaged goods that she has no future in politics.

Considering the power Oprah has, what one could call "soft" power, or hard to quantify power, taking an elective office would be a step down for Palin. As the host of a talk show, considering our current media-saturated world, she could be a whole new thing, a kind we've never seen before.

The vast majority of parents don’t know that or when their children become sexually active.

Why should Saraah Palin be any different? Sounds like more double standard stuff from the left.

Primarily right now Palin wants to sell as many books as possible.

The best method of doing so in modern America says more about the sorry state of affairs in the country than it does about Palin.

Later, when Palin is actively running for President, all this stuff will be old news and she can use the high number of her book sales to help propel her candidacy.

As a P.S. to the above, I was wrong to say she brought it up. But the interviews for the book are a whole new start, and she should just say "I'm not talking about my family."

Paul Newman, among others, is an example of a star who would do interviews but certain topics were off limits. If Barbara Walters or anyone else asks Palin about her family, Palin would have full support of everyone if she said that topic is off limits.

If she is trying to let people in on her personal life as a way of getting them to like her for a talk show hosting gig in the future, I guess that's fine. Women are the audience for these shows, and many of them want to hear all that stuff. If she wants to be taken seriously as a politician, though, I think it's foolish of her to keep reminding people of the soap opera aspects of her life.

This woman embraces TRUTH. She speaks what she believes to be TRUE, regardless of the implications.

Sarah could never revise history: HER ELDEST DAUGHTER GOT PREGNANT.

Damaging? All these accusations of being a bad mother were all part of OBAMA MACHINERY in 2008.

But thinking beyond, its shows Sarah's real character: A STRONG WOMAN WHO HAS THE COURAGE TO SPEAK TRUTHFULLY.

To rectify the past, one has to recognize and face the TRUTH. That's the first step for a BRIGHT, BETTER FUTURE.

As the old saying goes,

TRUTH WILL SET YOU FREE.

I HATE LIARS, HALF LIARS, GLOSSY BUT LYING LIPS, AND ESPECIALLY TRUTH-EVADERS. These are the very kind of people who have destroyed the economy and the moral compass of this country.

Many Republican leaders are just like Democrats: If they make a mistake (or even corruption) ... their strategic solution is always limited to CLEAN the dirt, JUSTIFY, COMPROMISE, etc., INSTEAD OF ACKNOWLEDGING THEIR MISTAKE. The casualty? TRUTH. In turn, they commit more mistakes and mistakes.

I am happy that Sarah is truthfully acknowledging her family's defects and problems: A TYPICAL, IMPERFECT FAMILY BUT WITH A PROMISE OF BETTER FUTURE BECAUSE OF THE BOND CALLED ... LOVE.

As far as I'm concerned, her direct answer to the question IS DIRECTLY FROM THE HEART AND IS INDEED VERY PRESIDENTIAL TO ME.

But it's just me saying.

In short,

When I say I support Palin, I am very mindful of her family’s history.

The fact that her teen daughter got pregnant is just one of the few blots that “I” could slap on her face. Beyond that, NOTHING MUCH. After all, I’m not a single-issue voter. And Sarah’s daughter is not even in my list of issues for voting a President.

Romney’s RomneyCare plus Lying flipflops is beyond repair.
Huck’s previous bipartisanships in Arizona for raising taxes means that I can never trust him.

Records of Demint, Pawlenty, Barbour, Daniels, Jindal, etc. when it comes to economy are also full of moles, quite lackluster IMHO.

Let’s see if McDonnell can make wonders in Virginia.

Conclusion: SARAH PALIN 2012!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The fervent critical comments made here in reaction to one sentence released by an unfriendly source, ABC, from a lengthy interview, indicates that some on FR are expending enormous time and energy trying to destroy Sarah Palin.

No one could make any assessment about Palin's judgement from that one line. That does not stop the operatives on FR from jumping at any opportunity to confuse Palin's supporters and wound her politically.

It is bad enough having to tolerate the politics of personal destruction in the press, much less on FR.

If Palin were a Mormon, I would want to hear her views on how her faith might affect her ability to govern. If Romney had a daughter with a child out of wedlock, I would accept his decision as to whether to speak about the subject, but if he did, assess his response.

Palin decided to answer the question honestly. If the public believes that her answer reflects well on her, then answering the question will have been to her great advantage.

That should have been obvious to everyone. But we had to have this crew descend on the thread to try to spin something negative about Palin from this. Their tortured reasoning, effort and perseverance makes me wonder why a volunteer would bother.

If people feel like gossiping about other people’s teens having sex, go. Have at it.

Just don’t take your eye off the ball. We need a Presidential candidate DESPERATELY who is a true conservative down to his/her heart and soul, and who has the balls/ovaries to stand up and speak the truth and doesn’t care if he/she is universally loved or even called a name or mocked. That candidate might be Sarah. Let’s keep watching.

Ronald Reagan’s teens had sex too. No one is perfect. For every teen who got into trouble with sex or drugs is at least one parent. Many of those parents are conservative. Get over it.

It seems to me that Sarah speaks honestly and openly as is natural to her personality. Her statement about her daughter maybe reveals more about her and the naivete she exhibits that makes her attractive to many.

Liberals are always ascribing their personality tendencies on conservatives and I think the same is true for a conservative like Sarah. She can't imagine someone who would not be honest and open when answering a question. As you get older you understand you don't have to answer the questions, but I don't think you automatically become cynical. There seems to be a part of her that even in the political realm still expects the best of everyone.

Chet, I nominate this thread of yours as the *best* for 2009 (from you personally anyhow), all of the ingredients are here, all of the pro and anti Sarah voices, the fists raised for one reason or another, and it has nothing to do with PITBULLS! LMAO

Well, kinda. ;)

From the AP headline: “Sarah Palin says she didn’t know her daughter Bristol was sexually active...”

The inference in that headline is that people thought she DID know and approved of it. Leave it to AP to destroy someone with just a headline.

There is a difference between saying “Well I have a serious disagreement with Palin on issue X and here is why” and posting “She should shut up she is not sounding Presidential” or “Palin cannot win, she is an idiot” etc

I think most Freepers respect a honest difference of opinion but have nothing but contempt for the knee jerk bitchiness and personal attacks politics which is all the foes of Palin have so far presented us.

Go reread the comments on this thread.

There is no substantial critic of Palin posted here all that has been written is just the usual combination of personal attacks and bitching. "She is not Presidential, I don't like this about her, I don't like that about her etc".

Most of us are sick of hearing this garbage.

If we wanted to read this kind of juvenile crap, we would go to Leftist websites since those sorts of Ad Homine attacks is all they ever post.
