ATLANTA - An analysis suggests recipients of federal stimulus dollars have overstated the number of jobs created or saved in Georgia.
..snip
In one such case, the Central Savannah River Area Economic Opportunity Authority in Augusta reported saving 317 jobs.
But fiscal officer Chris Whitley says that represents the number of Head Start workers who received 2.3 percent raises from the stimulus funds.

DOH!
The report was the number of gov workers who got a raise... not the number of jobs saved...

Wait just a doggone minute there. Stimulus funds were used for pay raises for Head Start workers?
What is wrong with THAT picture?
“# of stimulus jobs in Ga. overstated”
I’m sure you can actually insert the state of your choice in this title. I’m personally aware of attempts at the local school district to show stimulus’ positive results were there were none. A friend was there to see to it that did not happen. BTW, that was were NO money had come. Lies are unbelievable from those who want to fabricate something to make our chosen one look good.
It was a “shovel-ready” project.
From what I’ve read, most of the money has gone to state government and road projects.
And signs, lots of signs.
More signs than anything - and the barrels they rent when they do road work!
Last summer a project was announced in my area - few weeks later the barrels showed up and we figured the road work would be started promptly what with the expense of renting those barrels among other things.
Well, the roadwork did start but not until mid october. It was done in 10 days.
And the barrels? Still being rented and along Hwy 283.
All those stimulus funds to the barrel-rental co is really helping.
Still is.
;-)
You’ve made me curious... the airport is being repaved. I’ll have to peek over the fence and see if there are bbls or signs.
