(Washington, DC) -- Sexually transmitted diseases are on the rise in America. Researchers at the Centers for Disease Control found that in 2008 cases of chlamydia rose by 100-thousand from 2007, while gonorrhea grew to 337-thousand cases and syphilis rose 18-percent in the same time period.
Teen girls from 15 to 19 years old had the most cases of both STDs. Nearly 71-percent of reported gonorrhea cases and almost half of all syphilis and chlamydia cases last year afflicted blacks, who make up 12-percent of the population. Black women from 15 to 19 years old had the highest rates of chlamydia and gonorrhea.
According to the CDC, more than 19-million new STDs occurred last year, with almost half the cases afflicting people between the ages of 15 to 24. John Douglas, director of the CDC's division of sexually transmitted diseases, said, quote, "We have among the highest rates of STDs of any developed country in the world. We are not honestly and openly dealing with this issue and it's the larger issue of sexual health."

Oh what a crock. It's ignorance. When I was in High School in the 80's we were taught about STD's. We were not given free condoms though. The local government offices of the social services have free condoms in fish bowls like candy (explain that to the little ones). The local liquor stores are given free condoms to hand out. What more do they want us to do? Make it mandatory to wear one?

Oh, does that bring back a momory! I won't be able to explain the entire thing but you'll get the idea.
Several yesras ago there was a woman who was one of The Regualrs at The Local Watering Hole. Nice gal and surprisingly intellegent, but hung out with the wrong crowd. She's the only person I've known who, like me, sometimes worked crossword puzzles backwards.
But I digress...
A few of us tried to help her. Tried to keep her busy and away from the druggies and out and out criminals. We'd find her a job, make sure she had a place to stay...but she'd always backslide and end up in rehab for booze or drugs.
One day I was sitting at the bar when she suantered in fresh from some social service office. She sideled up to me, sat down and ordered a beer.
everyone in the room was quiet because we were watching "Bonanza" on TV. I guess that set her off because she stood up mext to me and with her arom around me loudly announced..."You can call me a S**T but you can't call me a WH**E. WH**E'S get paid, I give it away!"
Totally embarrassed I grabbed her and made her sit donw and be quiet.
Now the part that relates to what you posted.
Not to be treated like that she proceeds to open her purse and dump out what looked like DOZENS of condoms! She started rummaging through them sayg stuff like, "Look, this one is minty fresh!"
She then told us all that they had the condoms for free at wahtever office she was at. They were in a fish bowl and you could take as many as you wanted.
There is no happy end to this story. No matter what any of us did she kept going back to the drunks and druggies. Eventually she died by putting heroin in an eycup and putting it in her eye.
The last time I saw she was unconscious in the hospital. As I stood there praying, she passed.
A very tragic end, and I still miss her.

As a school nurse, I tell the kids the truth. Condoms do not protect from STDs, even though the CDC website says otherwise. Dr. Tom Coburn, US Senator, called the CDC on their propaganda a few years back. They promote them against their own findings!
Only HIV gets any protection, with 85% protection. Gonorrhea (I think) gets 0.03% protection, and the rest 0%. This condom campaign is a killer...but most kids think they are getting protection!
