Don’t we now have a president with less than that?

In terms of actual experience before ascending to the presidency, almost certainly. But in terms of time in office, no. Bottom line: her resignation was flabbergasting and permanently damaging. They got her scalp. No, even worse. She gave them her scalp. Willingly.

She was also mayor before becoming governor, so I think she indeed does have more time in office than Barry. HOW long was he in the Senate? Like the blink of an eye.

I don’t agree. I think she did what she thought was right for her and her state. If that is the only drum her opponent is going to beat then they have very little to oppose her with. And considering her conservative beliefs in this time of rampant radicalism I don’t give a damn that she left office. Only that she was driven out by being nearly bankrupted by lawsuits and ethics complaints that went nowhere. She’ll get that message out if she runs.

It hurt her, I don't think there is any doubt. I understand why she did it, but this is something that will haunt her for a while. Her enemies and especially her Repub rivals are going to keep throwing it at her until she has enough new history to make it irrelevant.

Her only way back, which may be what she is doing, is to go permanently on the attack.

If she does, and is able to claim some successes in getting a few people elected, it will let her (and her supporters) re-write the "narrative". Basically she already has started her story, that she left the governorship to be more effective blah blah. As one of her supporters, thats the story I repeat as often as anyone wants to hear it.

But now she has to make it true, and that means going on the attack and staying there (if she wants a future in politics, which she evidently does). She has to give her supporters some ammo, so she has to show some successes. She has been able to change the debate of the day several times lately, and she has the ability to drive her enemies bat-snot-crazy.

So she could pull it off. But she's got to keep herself in the spotlight, not make any fatal errors, and stay in Obama's face like Glenn Beck in heels.
