Smith & Wesson, the famed American gunmaker once owned by Tomkins, the British conglomerate, expects to nearly double its annual sales in the next three to five years as demand for its firearms soars in the recession. It is not alone.

All over America demand for firearms and ammunition is rising amid concerns that rising unemployment, which passed 10 per cent this month, will lead inexorably to higher rates of crime. Fears of terrorism have also helped to lift demand, as have concerns among gun owners that the Obama Administration may introduce restrictions on gun ownership and impose additional taxes.

It has been almost two weeks since we had a article about gun sales.
I wondered what was missing.

Barack Obama, at a recent rural elementary school assembly in East Texas, asked the audience for total quiet.

Then, in the silence, he started to slowly clap his hands once every few seconds, holding the audience in total silence.

Then he said into the microphone, 'Children, every time I clap my hands together, a child in America dies from gun violence.'

Then, little Richard Earl, with a proud East Texas drawl, pierced the quiet and said, 'Well, dumb-ass, stop clapping!'

That's NOT the big reason why folks are "stocking up". Obama lies about EVERYTHING else, so nobody believes him when he says he won't fool around with our 2nd Amendment rights.

People are arming themselves because they fear their government, not their neighbor.

The reason that most people I know are stocking up is that guns are good investment. You can double your money on what you buy in less then 10 years.

I know a couple of guys who have more invested in guns then what is in their stock portfolios.
