More and more Jewish people will be flocking to Israel in the days and weeks and months ahead.

What does this mean? And what does this have to do with settlements?

It’s an apocalyptic statement that arises from unfortunate “end times” fanaticism.

It was a little puzzling. I think she was pretty much referencing the evanfelical mindset about Israel and Jews gathering there, the coming of the Messiah, etc...

Maybe not 100% clear that the “settlements” are pretty much for Jews who are already in Israel to begin with.

Also, days and weeks and months made it seem as if there’s some imminent mass movement.

I’d think maybe someone who knows a little more about the situation could have a 5 or ten minute conversation with her and bring her up to speed. A nice tutor like Condi was for W. If she wants to go further she will have to be a little more up to speed on things. Still, she never really claimed to know all the intracacies of Israeli politics. Or to be all that much of a policy whiz to start with. More just a gut level feel that Israel is the good guy in the Middle East and we should be generally supportive of them.

Now, I don’t think too many Israelis would agree with that evangelical interpretation. But, they don’t think Jesus is returning anytime soon anyway so it doesn’t really bother the, They’re just happy for support whrever it comes from. They also probably realize that she’d way more supportive of Israel in just about every respect than Obama is, as would any other GOP nominee. So in that regard I’d suspect that they’d help the GOP win in whatever way they can. I don’t think it’s a coincidence that the 2 Presidents since Israel was founded who were seen by the Israelis to have turned against Israel(Carter and Bush41)were both defeated for reelection.

What does this mean?

That's the $600,000 question. :-)
