Hadley hacked: warmist conspiracy exposed?(Globull Warming)
Herald Sun (AU) ^ | Friday, November 20, 2009 at 08:34pm | Andrew Bolt

8.15 PM UPDATE: The Hadley CRU director admits the emails seem to be genuine:

The director of Britain’s leading Climate Research Unit, Phil Jones, has told Investigate magazine’s TGIF Edition tonight ..."It was a hacker. We were aware of this about three or four days ago that someone had hacked into our system and taken and copied loads of data files and emails."…

TGIF asked Jones about the controversial email discussing “hiding the decline”, and Jones explained what he was trying to say….

So the 1079 emails and 72 documents seem indeed evidence of a scandal involving most of the most prominent scientists pushing the man-made warming theory - a scandal that is one of the greatest in modern science. I’ve been adding some of the most astonishing in updates below - emails suggesting conspiracy, collusion in exaggerating warming data, possibly illegal destruction of embarrassing information, organised resistance to disclosure, manipulation of data, private admissions of flaws in their public claims and much more. If it is as it now seems, never again will “peer review” be used to shout down sceptics.

This is clearly not the work of some hacker, but of an insider who’s now blown the whistle.

Here’s a link that serves to validate at least one of the emails. http://listserv.arizona.edu/cgi-bin/wa?A2=ind9812&L=itrdbfor&T=0&P=795

Those of you that have the original file, here’s some info on how to extract the text from it:

The file names in the email directory are UNIX dates of the emails.

Emails are in UNIX format, so Notepad won’t open them properly.

Copy all the text files to a single folder.

Move all the text files into a single document.

A simple way to do this is by using DOS in a command prompt window:

Go to the folder in & type:

TYPE *.txt>emails.doc

Then hit enter. It will dump everything into a single text file with “doc” as the suffix.

Then select ‘Open With’ Open Office Writer or MSWord etc. It will guess (usually correctly) the right formatting and ask you if you want to convert. Then it will open to show all the emails in order from oldest to newest. You can scroll through them, do text searches, etc. Be sure to ‘Save As’ a RTF file or with a differnet name or you will have to covert it each time you open it.

I expected this to be the headline on Drudge. Nothing on the news either, so now I’m confused. Do they think it’s a hoax? What is going on?

Squiggly lightbulbs and “green” products are a multi-billion dollar industry.

They are not going away quietly.

People need to ping other lists and make this go viral on Twitter. This is pretty big.

Could be, but to what end other than a prank.

To use as a way to discredit people that are against global warming, that use this to prove their case. if it's a hoax they can say, "oh, those flat earther's are using fake documents to try to discredit global warming."

Well, the majority opinion at RealClimate (run by Gavin Schmidt and Michael Mann)seems to be that the e-mail quotes are out of context and therefore irrelavant. In other words, much ado about nothing.

All these stories out of CRU are beginning to give me vertigo:

First, the whole deal was simply that someone had hacked into one of their servers.

Then, all of the information was some kind of elaborate prank, and even the existence of any emails at all was called “Alleged”.

Somebody chimed in about that time, screaming for the cops because somebody swiped his emails.

Now they’re, er....”out of context and therefore irrelavant”....

Somebody better get their spinmeisters coordinated, before they have a midair and bust something.

Funny how the roaches hustle around when the lights go on, ain’t it?

I believe that God is being kind to you today.

Just downloaded the entire file and it is amazingly large thing.

My nose tells me this is the real deal.

I opened up the first of the files and came to this conclusion from my initial observations.

What do you get when you apply calculus to a Big Lie, Answer: A Bigger Calculated Lie.

“How can a “dataset of land-and-sea temperature recordings” be kept confidential”

I was wondering the same thing. Imagine Einstein, when he came up with his theory of Relativity, claiming all the data and observations he used to come to his conclusion, were confidential and nobody`s business.

Your advice is very good on handling the files. Especially in merging the files.

I chose to leave the file in original format and view with Notepad++ editor. It is a very fast GPL (free) advanced text editor. http://notepad-plus.sourceforge.net/uk/site.htm It will display in Windows, Mac, or Linux formats without changing the file structure. It also handles RegX search functions.

I like having all the e-mails in 1 searchable file. My merged file is 7.8 MB in size.

Have not had time to go through it, but being able to search by specific Sender or Recipient should help in analyzing what is important.

Thanks again.

TF

Unfortunately the scientists are not the real players. Those who enable them and give them directions are the real enemy.

Some of the scientist are not much better than useful idiots.

Some have sold out for money.

The Traitors who want to destroy this nation need that harsh treatment.

I am convinced that ANY Congressman who voted for Cap & Trade is either a Traitor or simply too Stupid to Hold Public Office.

Here is the list of offenders.

The Day Global Warming Stood Still (But Warming Lies Didn’t)
Investor’s Business Daily ^ | November 20, 2009 | IBD editorial staff

Climate Change: As scientists confirm the earth has not warmed at all in the past decade, others wonder how this could be and what it means for Copenhagen. Maybe Al Gore can Photoshop something before December.

It will be a very cold winter of discontent for the warm-mongers. The climate show-and-tell in Copenhagen next month will be nothing more than a meaningless carbon-emitting jaunt, unable to decide just whom to blame or how to divvy up the profitable spoils of climate change hysteria.

The collapse of the talks coupled with the decision by Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid to put off the Kerry-Boxer cap-and-trade bill, the Senate’s version of Waxman-Markey, until the spring thaw has led Oklahoma Sen. James Inhofe, the leading Republican on the Environment and Public Works Committee, to declare victory over Sen. Barbara Boxer, D-Calif., and the triumph of observable fact over junk science.

“I proudly declare 2009 as the ‘Year of the Skeptic,’ the year in which scientists who question the so-called global warming consensus are being heard,” Inhofe said to Boxer in a Senate speech. “Until this year, any scientist, reporter or politician who dared raise even the slightest suspicion about the science behind global warming was dismissed and repeatedly mocked.”

Inhofe added: “Today I have been vindicated.”

The Ada (Oklahoma) Evening News quotes Inhofe: “So when Barbara Boxer, John Kerry and all the left get up there and say, ‘Yes. We’re going to pass a global warming bill,’ I will be able to stand up and say, ‘No, it’s over. Get a life. You lost. I won,’” Inhofe said.

My previous comment>

“Does this imply that the leak was from daryl@climaterealists.com ?”

When I e-mailed that account today it bounced. I suspect all the mail service there is shut down due to the investigation. Or it may be just this e-mail account.

This is who the account appears to be linked to=> http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Daryl_Hannah
