What's $100 million of taxpayer money between a few U.S. Senators?
After reports surfaced, originally from ABC News, and subsequently commented upon by prominent lefties, like U.S. News and World Report's Bonnie Erbe as my colleague Noel Sheppard pointed out, Sen. Mary Landrieu, D-La., took the Senate floor on Nov. 21 to announce she would vote in favor to proceed forward with the Senate Democratic leadership's health bill. But she also took time to respond to allegations that $100 million earmarked for the Louisiana was added to that legislation to sway her vote by referring to the likes of ABC News correspondent Jonathan Karl and Erbe as "very partisan Republican bloggers."
"I know that might time is up, but I would like to ask personal privilege for just one more minute to address an issue that has come up unfortunately in the last 24 hours by some very partisan Republican bloggers so I need to respond I think and will do so now," Landrieu said. "One of the provisions in the framework of this bill that I've just decided to move on to debate has to do with fixing a very difficult situation that Louisiana is facing and any other state that might have a catastrophic disaster - let's hope they don't - like we did in 2005."

This is proof that Obamacare will distribute healthcare based on politics—how powerful your Senator or Congressman is, how important your state is, whether you’re a member of a favored demographic group, race, or sex, or whether you’ve got political pull in Washington. They are already doing it, and the bill has not even been passed yet.
Thomas Jefferson would have never approved of this Louisiana purchase, but William Jefferson would be proud of the new Louisiana purchase: Mary Landreiu. I see a tv commercial here. Which Jefferson does Mary Landreiu most resemble? The Louisiana purchase has a whole new meaning now.

My guess in addition to the items we know about benefiting her state they also promised her all the $$$ she could want for her re-election campaign + what ever celebrities she wants, backing of some other pieces of major pork barrel legislation, a high paying job if she loses reelection and maybe a book deal or something similar so she can personally benefit.. The alternative if she votes no is being stripped of all committee assignments, blocking all bills she’s interested in that benefit her state, running an primary candidate against her with the full power of the Democrats and their various allies including SEIU and ACORN working against her, getting media allies to trash her family, etc. Now since Senators offered her between 100=300 mill for her district and who knows what else it’s legal.
If I tried the same thing I’d go to jail and she would to if she accepted. We need to know everything she was offered!!!!
Just as "hate speech" means anything that goes against their kool-aid approved ideological talking points.

Even hookers get their cash in public. This $100 m bribe was tucked into the bill with no mention of Louisiana or Sen. Mary Landrieu. This was payment under the sheets.
Of all the things wrong with this Bill and Government run health care in general. What you state is by far the most insidious.

Pretty tough call there. It may be a toss up between the bribed and the briber.

Don’t you just hate when you are outed by those that are supposed to be helping you sweep the pesky payoff details under the rug????
Meanwhile the taxpayers are footing the bill for the payoff to you and for the health care bill that we don’t want in the first place. Me thinks that this payoff should be included in the health expense total.
