Exactly. The AP can't have it both ways.
—”So how would you explain the many folks that say she speaks in a homey, forthright manner? “
So did Bush and he wasn’t able to articulate a message that sank in with the voters.
We lost the election in part because Bush couldn’t convince people and defend himself verbally. Reagan could do so, Palin will not.
Don’t get me wrong because I was enthralled with Palin for the first few days after McCain chose her...
....”Obviously you have a problem. No one is running for President in 2010.”
Sure, cite me on technicalities, but candidates start running in 2010. It just so happens, Palin has started running in 2009.
RIGHT! And care to let us all in on who you support (who any one of us would recognize that is): Pawlenty, Huck or Romney?
Is it just me, or are others also continually unimpressed with Palins pathetic way of speaking?
By "Pathetic" you must mean "NON-HAWVAD" and plain-speaking so that no one mistakes what she is saying for some typical double speak?
It about the MESSAGE moonbat, not how the message is dispensed
She sounds like a caffeinated soccer mom trying to sound presidential.
SO, DON'T LISTEN AND HAVE ANOTHER GLASS OF KOOL AID!!!
You’re already taken a beating on this thread so I’ll keep this short and sweet.
I actually agree with you about Bush not speaking out but I don’t think Sarah Palin has that problem.
Of course, who knows if she’s even thinking of running. But I don’t think she’d take the type of criticism Bush did lying down. JMHO
...”I’d rather have someone like Sarah who says the right things than look for someone who says things right. No, I don’t want Sarah in 2010, but I would be thrilled to death to have her win in 2012, and I consider that likely. I have an open mind, and I’d consider other true conservatives who mean what they say. I’m waiting to see them step up to the plate. “
Well, I was in your camp (would rather have someone like Sarah after her Repub Convention speech) until I saw the Mike Rogers (Rep, Mich) speech against Obamacare on the House Floor. Evidently you didn’t watch the Mike Rogers video:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G44NCvNDLfc
The Rogers video has 6,600,000 Youtube views in a few short months and has been termed “viral” due to the level of public interest. We need to put our energies into someone like Mike Rogers (or someone else)instead.
Watch the video and let’s debate the QUALITY of Mike Rogers’s forceful, intelligent argument vs. Palin’s weaker abilities. Let’s debate this on a higher level instead of referring to me as a putz for disagreeing about Palin.
NO FLAMES, OK? In order to be a strong party representing conservative beliefs, you all here need to have a open mind in choosing the strongest opposition against the Obama Thug Regime. Isn’t it OK to post some counterpoints here on the subject of Palin? Evidently not.
I’ve got crossover Democrat/Independent neighbors who sneer at Palin who would otherwise vote for a new face like Rogers or someone else if one came along, but they won’t because Palin is damaged goods (for her provincialism and poor articulation that makes her such an easy target as GWB was).
Let’s not make the same mistake twice with yet another inarticulate candidate (think: Bush, McCain) - in this case, a run-on-sentence speaking Republican candidate. Sure she rallies a certain group of people, but not enough of the Independents and the middle. That doesn’t mean we have to elect a RINO either.
...”Of course, who knows if shes even thinking of running. “
C’mon isn’t it obvious?
It’s just you.
....By “Pathetic” you must mean “NON-HAWVAD” and plain-speaking so that no one mistakes what she is saying for some typical double speak?”
Not at all! If you watched the video I posted, you’d see another superb conservative representative who is articulate but NOT in a Harvard way. Rather in a Reaganesque manner.
And BTW, I have nothing to do with Rep Mike Rogers. I’m in California (not Michigan) and have to put up with all the pathetic multicultie libbies out here. I hadn’t heard of him until I watched that video.
I’m just one of the 6.6M people who stumbled across that Youtube Video of his railing on Obamacare in such a way that would make Reagan proud.
“She sounds like a caffeinated soccer mom trying to sound presidential.”
You said: SO, DON’T LISTEN AND HAVE ANOTHER GLASS OF KOOL AID!!!”
Again, I suggest having an open mind to all possible candidates. We have to pick the strongest one. There’s plenty of time for a good one to rise to the occasion. Lumping me in with KoolAid drinkers is clearly inappropriate. KoolAid is the official Obamabot drink and is unknown to freepers.
...”Wow, and I thought you were more capable of finding someone to promote that no one had ever heard of.”
Huh? And mind you: No one had ever heard of Palin until Sept 2008 when McCain plucked her out of obscurity.
How does that square with your statement?
She sounds like a caffeinated soccer mom trying to sound presidential.
If you're annoyed by an accent other than your own and delivery is your only measure of a speaker's value, you were doubtless impressed by The One and probably voted for him.
Sometimes, it helps to listen to what's being said.
Goodness, the anti-Palinites broach the lamest arguments...
-—”If you’re annoyed by an accent other than your own and delivery is your only measure of a speaker’s value, you were doubtless impressed by The One and probably voted for him.”
Not at all. My comment had NOTHING to do with her accent being different than mine. Rather, it’s her hyperactive, run-on sentences that often come across as batty. This makes so much fodder for her critics and will continue to do so just like it did when GWB screwed up so many times in speaking.
Sure Palin would fight back more than GWB would when attacked by the left, but we need a STRONGER candidate than her.
Please don’t insult me by accusing me of voting for Obeyme, just because I think Palin isn’t the best candidate, OK? That’s the worst insult imaginable!
So you are wanting someone like Palin to pick your guy out of obscurity?
The “pick from obscurity” lottery doesn’t happen often. I have an uncle that we could all get behind for president, too.
Name one that is now on the horizon.
There are two groups of people who are going to do everything in their power to see that obama is re-elected:1. The democrat Party. 2. The Republican Party.
The Republican Party would prefer four more years of obama than to see Sarah Palin elected.
Sorry. But your reasoning sure suggested that you did.
And, oddly, I don't hear any more "run-on sentences" out of Palin than I hear out of any public speaker. But you do...
Look, if you don't like Palin for some visceral reason, just go ahead and say so. As in, "I just don't like her." Go ahead, you can say it. But there's no need to make up stuff so as to fabricate a specious reason.
Did you ever see the newsreel clips or read the transcripts of any Dwight Eisenhower press conferences...???
Well you know since the AP is in such dire staits financally sicne NOONE buys their phoeny news anymore this is fitting. Sara’s publisher should sue their pants off and close them down for good!
Typical liberal outfit: rules are for the little people.
