Sounds like self-defence, which I understand is wholly unfashionable in fascist strongholds like NYC and UK. Apparently you are only guilty of assault if you win the fight after initiating force, and are only to be celebrated for defending yourself if you lose. Either way, the civil authorities must explicitly establish their place at the top of the pecking order. No power above state power!
I’d definitely want to know more about the specifics before passing definite judgement, but the view from here looks like Mr. Dwight Johnson picked the wrong victim to bully, Mr. Sanchez chose the wrong city to live in, and generations of NYC voters have chosen the wrong brand of politics to endorse.
He has a rare eye disorder that makes homeless people look like juicy sirloin! He was depressed over hearing his next door neighbor talk about his post-traumatic distress disorder! Plus he was unemployed! Someone mentioned George W. Bush five minutes before! He was putting the knife away for safety and he fell on the victim several times! The train lurched! He was reaching for his token when the knife dropped from his pocket! Plus, he was worried about an AIDS test he was thinking of taking! You’re anti-Muslim, and he was thinking about becoming a Muslim, maybe!
You have just earned your legal degree.
You are now a full fledged defense lawyer and will get $110 an hour for your work in defending everyone who comes into court on any charge at all and demands his God given and Constitutional right “to a lawyer” that the State must pay for (although that part is not in the Constitution, just added later by ...)
wait for it ...
LAWYERS!!!!
Yea for lawyers and their wholly owned sub- and sissy-idary the DemonCrat party!!!
Cool!
I've only been a lawyer 2 minutes, and already feel I'm qualified for the Democrat nomination for president!
I really AM a lawyer (or at least a democrat)!
If the stupid homeless person had placed the bag under the seat and sat in it he would be alive today.
I dont condone killing him with a steak knife, but he started the fight and the other man finished it.
One never knows when he climbs on a New York subway how the other guys life is going, sometimes it pays to just be polite.
Common courtesy would have solved the whole problem.
then again, maybe they’re all over the place.
Our (I say “our” because I am strongly pro-life) lectures about the sanctity of life simply fall away when someone punches us in the nose—then? KILL!!!!!!! LOL
Wow, he stabbed some homeless guy to death—what a macho man. Hey, at least he ended a life God created over something worthwhile, huh?
Utter crap. The man was viciously attacked. Since when does anyone have to accept a sudden unprovoked savage (and in many cases deadly) assualt? (Or didn't God create his life too?)Why do you seem to assume the homeless are helpless and weak and no real threat to anyone? I've spent a good deal of time on the streets on NY and I've seen many a homeless guy who I'd take seriously if he were coming at me.
“Time to ban all steak knives.”
As they virtually do now in England. Yes, you can still have a steak knife with you there, but you better have a good reason for carrying it in public and that reason better not be self-defense, or you’re looking at years in jail.
But he had a headache...............
He argued with a homeless person (foolish), and was punched--"viciously"? You need to spend more time on the streets, bro.
Since when does anyone have to accept a sudden unprovoked savage (and in many cases deadly) assualt?
Strawman--I never said he had to. (And, uh, WHO was assaulted with deadly force here?) If you think the only responses to a punch in the face are nothing or death, you REALLY need to get out more often.
(Or didn't God create his life too?)
Strawman.
Why do you seem to assume the homeless are helpless and weak and no real threat to anyone?
LOL I used to work at a homeless shelter. I have been in more fistfights with homeless people than you've had hot meals.
I've spent a good deal of time on the streets on NY and I've seen many a homeless guy who I'd take seriously if he were coming at me.
Obviously you have never actually engaged anyone, just run along like a scared rabbit. When you're a man, and have some knowledge of how to handle yourself, you don't have to take out a knife and chop someone up as the only response to some homeless jerk who throws a fist.
So we're right back to that famous compassion--some slob takes a swing, over a SEAT--he deserves death! LOL Stay huddled in your home, man, you wouldn't last two seconds in the real world if you go for this comic book action hero crap.
Engaging in the world means you have to be smart, not just flailing around with a knife because you can't handle a situation that should have resulted in both parties walking away. Killing a bum, wow, there's a hero.
It is New York City.
It doesn’t say that there were no other seats. It sounds as though Sanchez was looking for a fight and got one then went postal.
After being punched, I’m thinking self-defense.
Here’s a suggestion in the Thanksgiving spirit: Maybe Nobama should have a beer conference with this guy and the corpse?
Question: Why was this character CC a steak knife? I mean he went in to work late, his boss sends him out and he boards the subway to “go home” with a CC steak knife? That doesn’t make sense to me.
I was born there.
You forgot Big Pharma. They’re the real villains in this story. He was taking too many painkillers.
Sounds like self-defense to me. Never know what kind of weapon that “homeless” dude is going to pull after he punches you!
I have no idea if the killer was justified in this case, but -- having worked and traveled in New York City for years -- when dealing with a situation involving a drunken and/or effed-up and/or aggressive bum in a public area, I will always have a hard time generating any sympathy for him unless I see clear and compelling reasons for it.
