A leading climate change scientist whose private e-mails are included in thousands of documents that were stolen by hackers and posted online said Sunday the leaks may have been aimed at undermining next month's global climate summit in Denmark.
Kevin Trenberth, of the U.S. National Center for Atmospheric Research, in Colorado, said he believes the hackers who stole a decade's worth of correspondence from a British university's computer server deliberately distributed only those documents that could help attempts by skeptics to undermine the scientific consensus on man-made climate change.
Trenberth, a well respected atmospheric scientist, said it did not appear that all the documents stolen from the university had been distributed on the Internet by the hackers.
The University of East Anglia, in eastern England, said hackers last week stole from its computer server about a decade's worth of data from its Climatic Research Unit, a leading global research center on climate change. About 1,000 e-mails and 3,000 documents have been posted on Web sites and seized on by climate change skeptics, who claim correspondence shows collusion between scientists to overstate the case for global warming, and evidence that some have manipulated evidence.

The leak is appalling. The outright fraud detailed in the emails is not appalling. This is how it works on the left.
So we heard only half the information was released. And now we hear only the incriminating stuff that helps skeptics was releassed.

These people colluded to a massive, trillion dollar hoax that makes Madoff look like a petty thief. Criminal investigations into fraud are required.
Why do I suspect that Kevin and many others on the Left would’ve rejoiced if a “progressive” hacked into the Bush White House e-mails and discovered that “Bushitler” was falsifying data to go to war with Iraq?
As climate alarmists come out and paint themselves into their various corners, more of the documents will be released.
These liars and frauds should be in jail.
Interesting, he is doing exactly what was distributed on the Internet to do for damage control.
Maybe the other 50% of the files will be released soon now that they have tried this tactic.
It will come back to haunt them.

I would not hold my breath until any of those so called “scientists” are charged criminally with cooking the data.

A leading propaganda mill, more like it. Whatever these people are practicing, it isn’t science. More like somewhere between black magic and earth-diety worship. What can they get the boob-geois to accept as fact today.
They deliver half-truths, and dress them as fact. But a half-truth, like a half-brick, is easier to hurl, and even though it may have less impact at first, twice as many half-truths may be delivered with the same effort.
The other part of what is being flung out there is the half-lie, and at first, this is not questioned, as it looks close enough to the truth, it “seems” to make sense and sort of fits with logic. But over time, the half-lies just pile up, and the inconsistencies become overwhelming.
Then, as in this instance, somebody strips back the curtain, and there is the little man back there, like the Wizard of Oz, trying to put on the show even though he has just been exposed.

The only reason some so called scientist would defend these frauds is what?
He practices the same pseudo-science?
Maybe Mr Trenberth better rethink his position.
LOL, that would be great if they do.
I really hope this ends the debate.
Between the temperatures falling and the evident fraud, climate change ought to be dead for a generation.
Now if we can just repeal cap and trade and get a serious energy plan in place.
