AP source: Palin book sells big in first week By HILLEL ITALIE (AP) 44 minutes ago NEW YORK Sarah Palin appears well on her way to becoming a million-selling author.
"Going Rogue" sold 700,000 copies a number that includes pre-orders in its first week of release, according to a publishing official close to the former Alaska governor. The official was not authorized to release the sales figure and asked not to be identified.
Palin's memoir came out Nov. 17 with a first printing of 1.5 million copies. On Friday, publisher HarperCollins announced that the printing would be increased to 2.5 million.
Few nonfiction books have debuted so well.

I got mine....You Betcha!
HarperCollins execs must be really happy about this. Their investment is more than justified.
And the book is wonderful.

“Few”?
I thought Sarah's book was an unprecedented pre-release success.
I also thought that distinction encompassed both non-fiction and fiction.
If it weren’t for me it would only be 699,999 sold.
I hope she sells 5 Million copies.
Well, they have decided to release another 1 million.
1.5 million, then added 1 hundred thousand, then 1 more million....
Time to eat crow, Sarah Weinman!
Amen!
If you’re a fast reader it’s a treat to read. If you’re a slow reader, it’s a treat you can savor.
Mine arrived today, as well, and I bought one from B&N for her to sign in Minneapolis.
“Palin book sells big in first week” really?...hadn’t heard.
Rush was right. There's a lot of policy in it. It may not be presented directly as such, but it's there.
Common Sense Conservatism.
Trig is too cute! Precious picture! Thanks for posting it.
I got the last copy left on the shelf at B&N Sunday evening in SATX. The salesperson told me they were flying off the shelf.
I really hope she sell five million copies. But its a shame the biggest sales will run through the hands of Amazon and Barnes and Noble. Both seem to lean far left in everything they do.
Nowhere to be found at walmart...they even had no clue what I was talking about...aggghhhhhrrr
“HarperCollins execs must be really happy about this.”
I smell a contract for a 2nd book, much more philosophical and political in nature, to appear late summer, just in time for the mid-terms.
Having 2 blockbuster bestsellers to her credit would be something none of the other possible contenders will have, plus her ability to draw huge, enthusiastic crowds. Both big psychological boosts for her, and obsticles for the others.
:)
