Lambert is a guy with a lot of talent who apparently has chosen to throw it all away to become a cabaret singer for the bath house set.
He’s confining his talent to a pretty small market niche. Most people are repulsed by that pervert crap.
I would say that the guy is pretty much destined to peak out in about four months...and end up as a side act in Vegas. Maybe that was his intention from day one...just another gay nightclub singer in Vegas.
“pervert crap”
Indeed, that is.... what it is.
Sickening fruitcakes.
Actually, I’m rather unimpressed with his singing. He sounds like a Meatloaf background singer. His range is impressive, but he shifts to readily into a Nathan Lane-like squeal. The irony is that music is about stereotype, or, more accurately stated, varying on occasion from a presumed pattern. The AI judges bash certain singers for sounding too much like musical theater; Lambert sounds very theatrical, but given his style, his only chance is for a Broadway revival of Rocky Horror Picture Show... which he actually would be quite excellent for.
I think you folks are right on target. Nice response TeleBob.
There are folks who will never get Lambert musically. They share my repulsion at his private (or not so private) life, and for them that’s all they need to know.
I am able to listen to his singing. For me there are moments when the guy astounds me with his voice. So for me, I come away thinking he is very gifted, but in that I am troubled.
A lot of kids are going to hear this guy, and be mesmerized by him. I’m not happy about that at all. They will be tempted to adopt or at least accept more of his lifestyle than I think is proper.
So Lambert is for me in some ways an incredibly unique unmatched vocal talent, a very troubling individual, and someone who will be very problematic for young impressionable kids to be exposed to.
It’s just a real shame that he was taken by the dark side.
