WASHINGTON – The White House says President Barack Obama is placing heavy emphasis on how the United States eventually will withdraw from Afghanistan even as he plans to announce a troop increase next week.
White House press secretary Robert Gibbs said Wednesday that the United States is in its ninth year of military involvement in Afghanistan and "we are not going to be there another eight or nine years."
Gibbs says Obama's recent meetings with military advisers have often focused on how to train Afghanistan's police and army so they can secure and hold areas taken from the Taliban after U.S. forces are gone.
Obama will address the nation Tuesday night on his Afghan strategy from the U.S. Military Academy at West Point. He will brief key members of Congress earlier that day.

We need an exit stratigy from the US government.
Here’s my exit plan: kill all the bad guys, declare victory, bring them home. Any “plan” without victory is no plan at all.
If the “exit plan” comes as quickly as the “try to win the war plan” we’ll be there for more than 8 or 9 years.

He and Rahm must have gotten yelled at by all of the celebrities, communist Bloomberg and MSM Katie Couric’s at the State Dinner last night.
He announces that he will announce a decision, then various numbers of troops leaks... so then they announce they will announce a certain amount of troops sent and now this.
They are pathetic beyond words. Way to cheer the troops up.

We are not there to 'nation build' only destroy the Taliban.
We need to pull-out and when the Taliban show up, go back in and hit them again.
Of course, the libs will say, now you're being simplistic. Maybe so, but sometimes simplest is best. You don't go into a war without the intention of winning. Victory is always the best exit strategy.

Shameful that he would use our military or military institutions this way. I wish the cadets could take him into custody and dump him in the Hudson River. I just don’t know what to call that man anymore but I really feel for our troops.
THis contradicts the report yesterday that the plan didn’t include exit strategy discussion.
Intellectuals abhor simple truth. Patton said it well: Americans will not tolerate defeat. Shoot, even Obama was into the "victory thing" after the election. Remember "I won"?
I know it is confusing.
Obama plays games unless it is protecting a terrorist.
