Genachowski's frequent treks to White House (FCC Chairman)

FCC Chairman Julius Genachowski appeared to have visited executive branch offices 47 times between January 20 and August 31, according the the White House visitors log released today.

By comparison, Treasury Secretary Timothy Geithner made only five appearances.

Genachowski has had plenty to discuss with White House officials. Future disclosures will likely show a good number of more recent visits to talk about telecom issues--namely, his net neutrality proposals that reportedly caught some top technology and economic officials off-guard.

The visitors log includes visits to the Executive Office Buidling, the Office of Management and Budget, and other White House-affliated offices.

BTW, the list only includes FOIA requests and NOT ALL visitors to the White House. So, Obama is NOT releasing every name voluntarily as they would have us believe.

You have to GUESS who is visiting and request THAT NAME or you get NOTHING released. In other words, they are LIARS about being open and transparent.

How Tom Daschle Lobbies In Secret: Influence Laundering

He is the quintessential example of how power and staying in Washington too long changes a person's integrity. The old campaign ad of him in a beat up car talking about Washington elitism. He became one.

>> So legally he has more power than the other CZARS? <<

Well, not really.

In the first place, he’s by no means a “czar” of the standard Obamanistic variety, since his job was established by Congress in 1933, and he is head of an “independent agency” that theoretically reports directly to Congress, not to the TOTUS.

In the second place, he can’t make regulations by himself. All legally binding Commission actions take effect only with the concurrence of four other FCC Commissioners, and at least two of these Commissions can’t by law be Democrats.

And in the third place, the federal Appeals Court for the DC Circuit can and does overturn FCC regulations that don’t adhere to the Constitution, the Communications Act, and/or the Adminstrative Procedure Act.
