Should we expect a new round of North Korean mizzles?

Maybe Little Kim should give those railroad cars back to China.

Maybe Japan is looking to China to get NK to stop flying missiles over the island. Is this a sign the US is no longer seen as a reliable shield?

Quite sure both Japan and China would prefer NK stop his little fits of 'look at me'.

Not sure how well long Japan/China agreements would last due to China's desire to "re-aquire" Taiwan and Japans close proximity, next in line? (just my short opinion)

As to the US being reliable for anything, ..... I can't recall in my short lifetime when other countries leaders have so openly opposed a 'president' as being both detrimental to their country and to OURS! (both financially and as our country, AS a country and, in the world order)

No question about it, there is a history of distrust, if not animosity, between Japan and China. As a practical geopolitical matter, however, given the US’s inability to influence NK, its understandable that Japan is “reaching out” to China.

Good point. It hasn't hurt other major nations that engage in the same (with the understanding that 'observation' is a part of the exercises)[hope NATO is not involved]

Guess that's how North Korea has kept itself isolated, by not reaching out, except in expectation.

There will be more reaching out as Hussein turns more and more of our allies against us. That Mayan calendar chiseler might haven’t known what he was talking about after all.

“Japan is “reaching out” to China.”

I hope it doesn’t result in what happened in WWII. As for the US no longer being a reliable shield, so many countries are making fascinating new diplomatic arrangements that is really quite fascinating to watch. The US is becoming, potentially, irrelevant on the world stage, not as a superpower, but as a country to be taken into consideration when heads of state consider treaties, economic or otherwise.

Like China, few people really considered China at all and now China is a recognized developing, not just country, but superpower. The US can take the chance to bow out, concentrate on internal problems, solve them, and then go back on the world stage, or keep electing idiots and have them prance about like the tinpot dictators they are.

Countries are taking their own initiative now with diplomacy, minus telling hte President anything. Something no one thought feasible, but now it’s reality. I don’t really know how this is going to affect America, other than it is likely that diplomatic alignments are going to change and alter considerably. With Zero at the helm, America is going to be relied on less and less.

With Afghanistan it is possible that the Chinese might step in with troops. I am sure they have been yearning to test their troops, see how they do and what improvements need to be made to tactics and training on an actual battlefield. If Zero drops the ball, the Chinese go in, we could see the Middle East becoming allied with China or making lucrative deals with the Chinese government, which considering their need for oil, could end up cutting America off substantially, if not fully.
