It’s interesting that Ford couldn’t make the same changes to turn Jaguar around. OTOH, the Jaguar spin-off by Ford gave it some much needed liquidity that probably helped it weather the financial storm that ended up sinking GM.

In probably five years (at the most) Tata Motors will own GM.

Simple!
Guys who drive new Jags are more likely to have girl friends with bodacious tatas.
But then you knew that!;-)
To: SonOfDarkSkies
I think this is just because they are taking more of Government Motors sales.

They’ll have to buy it from the Zero Regime first.

I wonder who’s buying the new butt ugly Jaguars.
I’m not paying $83k for a car that looks like a Buick.
Jaguar, tata!

I dunno so much about that...I’m not a B cup,but I’d pass up a Jag for a Jeep (driven by a guy in fatigues) and a .50 cal!!! :)

I get the feeling that more women drive Jags than men. At least that’s what I see where I live where they probably sell the most number of Jags in the country. The new XF is actually quite amazing. If I had the money, I’d get one. But I don’t so I’ll just enjoy watching Jeremy Clarkson drive it.

I wouldn't think so if only because of the difference in price point of their products.
I think this is more evidence of what is being called a jobless recovery (i.e. the world economy is picking up at the top but jobs are not being added at the bottom).
Contrary to popular opinion, a jobless recovery, one in which an economy grows by increasing productivity instead of hiring...and leaves a large segment still unemployed, is quite possible. Those still employed see enough income to feed the recovery as those still unemployed watch as their unemployment benefits expire.

It’s a pity Jaguar finally produced a dependable car but put it in such an ugly shell. My ideal would be the ‘68 XJ sedan with 2008 innards.

I am very pleased that Tata bought Jag and Land Rover, kept them in the Commonwealth and didn't let them go to the ChiComs. Are Jag and Land Rover being sold in the States through Ford dealerships?
You may be very right about owning GM in years to come.

Jags are for metrosexual sissies IMO.
I currently drive an old BMW. But my 2 cars prior were Jeeps.

Well, I know of a Jaguar dealer who once was flat chested, but now....

Are you speaking about cars or “tatas” when refering to price points? :)
