The 2008 presidential race was widely trumpeted as the "Youth Election," and for good reason. Inspired by Barack Obama's relative youth and his message of "hope" and "change," young Americans flocked to the then-junior senator from Illinois.
It is doubtful that he could have become the most powerful man in the world without them.
What did the young get for their critical outpouring of support? Though most of his youthful backers would be hesitant to admit it, the President has betrayed them on three issues of great importance to their wallets and sympathies: health care reform, the federal budget and gay rights.

Ping!
By the time they get a clue, it may be too late.
A lifetime of higher taxes, less choices, less chance of finding a job and less of a chance of buying a house or affording a family?
It’s OK. Generation-Whatever thinks Obama is soooo cool.
Hope! Change! Getting screwed without so much as a kiss!
What I was wondering was
how many of them are actually smart enough or tuned in enough to know how much these policies hurt them?
Throughout the ages, the young have always wanted NOW what their elders have had to work decades for (the prodigal son parabel wasn’t told in a cultural vacuum).
They often look to the state to use force to “even things out” and give them what they want. They were promised, or inferred, exactly this in candidate 0bama.
Obama = Ike Turner as dim-witted 'rat voters = Tina. ;)
“Barack abandons the young”
Is there any age group he hasn’t abandoned now?
Well he has abandoned those of us who are not young and those of us who did not vote for him, also. I am not sure who is left on his loyalty list? Some Wall Street firms and SEUI?
They are on eternal un-employment, $$$ with out working for them.
I like working, and my short 3 month stint on unemployment drove me nuts, but I hear from my kids there are a lot of people out there enjoying thier time on un-employment.
Do you have the SNL image?
Do people who still support him live in some type of wonderland?
How many times does this phony need to abuse them before they wake up and smell the coffee?
It’s all about him and the way he selects people who will a benefit to serve his purpose only. When this function has been served or they question him, presto under the bus. He has no friends, pals or buddies only personally useful morons.
He is unable to ever tell the truth, therefore whatever he says is meaningless.
His only experience is in bullshi**ing.
He has placed a debt on this country that our children’s childern’s will still be paying for. He has angered world leaders with this lies and the world views him as a person who can not ever be trusted.
And still the wonderland people still can’t smell the coffee.
So,so.so sad
Sigh.
The one great truth that rarely dawns on the liberal young:
All too soon they will be the generation being taxed to pay for all the freebies and handouts they think are so neat.
A couple of questions...
...shouldn’t he be addressing POTUS as “Mr. President”?
...is it appropriate for him to actually swear at the POTUS?

Whether these issues are accurate or not, the one area he's absolutely DESTROYED young people in is employment & job creation. Younger folks have been hit hardest of all by this recession in terms of unemployment. He's doing NOTHING to improve the situation, and if left to follow through on his disastrous far left agenda of government health care takeover and cap & tax, things will only get FAR worse for young people in terms of job loss. I really hope they're enjoying have a cool black guy for prez while they live destitute in their parents' basements.
Heaven's no! But it is perfectly alright to scream "bushitler", carry signs with "kill Bush" and otherwise defame and mock the sitting President (as long as he's a Republican).
