I do not see the term “Palinista” as derisive, it is descriptive. I group Palin supporters and leaners in 3 categories;

1. Undecided - People who will keep an open mind about her during the next 3 years. Actually, I’m in this category.

2.Palinite - Leaning to Palin but could change their support if another more attractive candidate burst on the scene.

3. Palinista - Those who will crawl over broken glass to not only voter for her but also spike any negative facts and attack and destroy any critic with dares raise any ugly pot holes about a Palin candidacy. A truly unhealthy position.

BTW - Maybe you could explain your use of the phrase “Palin Patriot”?

Yikes! Haven't you considered the media thrashing she has taken and the need to defend her from same? The intermingling of fact and fiction?

I can't count the number of people I have come across who truly think Sarah said that she could see Russia from her front porch, when in fact Tina Fey said that.

Cut her defenders some slack, Bob.

"Palin's Patriots." Simply put, I think Sarah's supporters are patriots. Salt of the earth. Working families. Military families. People who love our country for it freedoms, not for its entitlements. People who pray and people who are proud to say God is part of their daily lives.

Sarah is a Common Sense Consevative. I like that. No need for fancy words or fancy, high brow education. I think we've seen quite enough of the Harvard, Ivy League types and hopefully a majority of American voters will come to the same conclusion.

I know she has room for improvement, but she knows that too and to date, she isn't running for any office.

I call her Sarah America. How does that sound to you? :)

3. Palinista - Those who will crawl over broken glass...
LOL!

Passionate intensity in defense of conservatism used to be a GOOD thing!

I understand your trying to bait the newbies by calling them "slobbering" buffons who "worship" Governor Palin -- and maybe a few of them are.
And, I appreciate your reminding the rest of us that we will need to be able to back up our support for Sarah Palin with a more reasoned defense -- eventually.
But you know as well as I do that PASSIONATE INTENSITY is what wins elections.
And Governor Palin inspires the kind of passionate intensity not seen on our side for a LONG time.

Please be honest. You are out and out insulting those of us who support Sarah Palin--your definitions cover both extremes, but not those of us in the middle--that would be the majority of her supporters. You hate her, obviously. That's your right. We like her. A lot. That's OUR right. And never the twain shall meet... Urban Dictionary's liberal definition of 'palinista' here, shocker, your definitions would fit right in with them, go figure!

You guys at the DNC are pretty upset to see Conservatives display such passion for a candidate.
