Vanity: CNBC and Climategate: Anyone see any coverage?
Nov. 30, 2009

Posted on 11/30/2009 4:15:46 PM PST by ReleaseTheHounds

I usually constrain my viewing of CNBC to Squawkbox in the 6-9 AM (eastern time) slot and can't claim to watch it all the time. But today I tried to recall hearing ANYTHING about Climategate and couldn't think of even a comment. I went back and looked at "headlines" and "segments" over the past 2 broadcast days (which would have covered the recent revelations of the raw data being dumped from the archives at East Anglia's CRU), but there appeared to be nothing.

Climate change and man-made global warming have become one of the most important "stories" in world affairs and the implications on American business and our economic system are enormous. For some companies, there is promise of riches if they can exploit the coming planned regulation of energy and "carbon" (think "carbon off-sets"), and some companies (think GE, parent of CNBC) have made climate change and "green energy" one of their strategic focuses. Despite this growing "importance", the news that the underlying data is a hoax and has been manipulated appears to have warranted ZERO mention by this major business news channel.

Please correct me if I'm wrong -- has ANYONE seen any coverage whatsoever of Climategate on CNBC or any of the other GE lying "news" organizations?

You won’t see any negative reporting on climategate. GE stands to benefit greatly from the global warming scam.

If everyone knew it was a scam, why would these emails be news?

It’s like confirmation that there is no Easter bunny.

I can’t see why we don’t use the power of the people. Look at Palins book sales, lets BOYCOTT all the media by refusing to watch thier crappy programing and boycotting thier supporters.

I thought CNBC was a financial channel? I’m sure people invested in “green” don’t want the cat out of the bag until they can unload some crap.

Checked at CNN: Some articles from a few days ago
accessible via SEARCH, but nothing on the news pages, no links to those browsing their home page. Sharp contrast to FoxNews, with easily accessible links on the front page.

I can say for certain, but I’d really be surprised if not. Unlike when Matthews and the clowns take over in prime time, CNBC’s daytime coverage if the market is actually very good. Unlike political journalists, you have to know what you’re talking about to be a financial journalist.

Michelle Caruso Cabrerra, Joe Kiernan, Rick Santelli, and even Maria Bartiromo all have their heads screwed on right.

Steve McIntyre has a thread up on media coverage with 190 replies at Climate Audit's mirror site:

http://camirror.wordpress.com/2009/11/29/press-coverage/

One poster is putting up a website dealing with nothing else but the media cover-up.

I quit watching the media a LONG time ago (teeheevee nooz in 1981 -- after I started watching it in 1980).

While CNN has ZERO mention of the ClimateGate, they have more than 10 pages on Whitehouse gatecrashers.

Sadly, while CNBC used to be a good financial channel they have muzzled almost all critical analysis of Obamanomics, and GE censors any anti-Greenshirt rhetoric. Since GE is first to fight to the trough to suckle at the public teat, this is unsurprising.

Basically, it’s turned into the John Harwood and liberal billionaire rent seekers show.

John Harwood (and Steve Liesman) drive me NUTS! To think that John Harwood used to be with the WSJ is a travesty — but then again, he was part of that Al Hunt cabal that took over the “news” pages of the Journal.

CNBC's parent GE would be BANKRUPT if it were not for the money shoveled from our pockets to theirs via the various Fed and Treasury packages.

Even without the fact that GE would profit mightily from Green govt idiocy, there is NO chance, NONE, that any part of GE would say/do anything against DC.
