Obama said on Tuesday he is sending 30,000 more U.S. troops to Afghanistan by next summer to speed the battle against the Taliban and plans to start bringing some home in 18 months.

God bless and protect them .. many of them from the '09 class will be going to Afghanistan.
So while he laments the financial costs of the war, everyone had to be loaded up and flown to New York, instead of being appropriate for the occasion and speaking .. frugally as well .. from the White House.
