So, it’s all about the perp’s age, huh? And his ability to shed crocodile tears at the direction of his lawyer? To put on an act?

EPIC FAIL.

What it’s ALL about is The Huckster’s gullibility — his dangerously (now deadly) LACK of discernment — that led him to buy the act; hook, line, and sinker; even over the protests of others who saw through the sham.

You see a Compassionate Conservative.
I see dead people.
What I see is WAY TOO real.
What you see is a flippin’ MYTH.

“it’ll just prove the point that America wasn’t ready for a black president,”

What in the crap does his color have to do with his Marxist/Socialist behavior. Doesn’t explain Pelosi, Reid, Gibbs, Dunn, Ayers or any of the rest of the crowd. I personally think it’s asinine to suggest that the problems we’re having are because of the presidential pigmentation.

“Many people predicted that O’s election would only spark racial tensions and fighting,”

O’s election didn’t spark racial tensions and fighting... O’s policies and community organizing-Alinsky tactics are causing racial tension and fighting.

“His election has emboldened minorities, and now muslims, nation wide to be militant in their actions towards the rest of the nation.”

Do you mean like the Cole, the first WTC or 9/11? I believe Clinton was in office when it started to really heat up and Bush when it caught on fire. Granted, Clinton was the first black president but last time I looked Bush was lilly-white.

My intention is not to be rude, I’m serious... did you think on this one before hitting the post button? If so, then I guess I do mean to be rude. I couldn’t give a flying flip about what’s PC or not and I don’t care whether you meant your post to be racist or not, I just don’t think anything you said is founded in reason. We’ve got to be smarter than that as Conservatives if we plan to win anything.

From a posting today:

Huckabee’s astounding record of leniency on felons:

—1,103 total clemenices in 10 1/2 years as Arkansas Governor

—Almost 1 out of every 10 criminals who asked for clemency received it

—At least 9% of those who received clemency were later convicted and sentenced for new felonies

—12 murderers received reduced sentences

—His 1,103 clemencies were more than double Huckabee’s three predecessors combined

—10 times more commutations for convicts than Bill Clinton

—The 1,103 clemencies surpassed Arkansas’ six neighboring states combined

—All those neighboring states had much larger prison populations than Arkansas

Now go sell your soft soap somewhere else!

Dewey Ave and Driving Park...going to the Greece area and inside the city too.( Driving P ark Ave. named for the General Motors Plant that was at the end of the old Subway line.

I was born in Brighton and all school years were there. I even went back to teach there. Long cold Winter wasn’t it?

It made me appreciate the 2 weeks of summer in late June and early July...really!

That report is a little messed up.

It’s not Thursday yet and it’s also not 11:35 PM EST yet.

Was this a different incident?

You have an overactive imagination.

And Huckabee, like him or not, is not in the end responsible for what this monster did.

It has nothing to do with seeing a "compassionate conservative." It has to do with being rational and having common sense, and looking at the facts without bias.

There is plenty of blame to go around. Blaming Huckabee is a cop out. Easy for you, but wrong.

Yes, the current expressway, Route #390? is built in the subway bed. Only a small portion downtown was underground. Clinton and South Avenue stops were in the old aqueduct system over the Genessee River.

That is sort-of the Xerox Tower to Main Library to War Memorial to Court House pathway.

I remember parties at the Frat houses when I was a High School senior. Went to Ohio for college though.

Lots of family connections to George Eastman ( grandfather was his Irish immigrant gardener) and later relatives in the East Avenue and Park Avenue area. My Mother graduated from the UofR, Old campus, in 1930 at 20 years old.

I’m not putting ALL of the blame on Huckabee, just the blame for his failure to exert adequate control at the point where control was his to exercise.

Ultimately, that’s all that ANY of us can be held liable for, and it’s all I’m holding him liable for.

He had a legitimate shot at discerning “the nature of the beast,” and taking a single action to contain said beast. He failed to discern, failed to give adequate weight to the the voices of other counselors, failed to take action to contain, and the rest is history.

No, he wasn’t the ONLY point of failure, just one of the points of failure that made a difference. That’s all.

This may not be the best question to ask on a cop-got-shot thread, but I’ll take that chance: Do they still make Utica Club beer back that way? When ever I see Rochester/upstate NY, I remember growing up in the late ‘40s-mid sixties (when I left for Parris Island) down Binghamton way and the old Schultz and Dooley singers toasting the wonders of U.C. Sad that it took something like this to bring back such memories.

But when did we hire Bush to liberate ANYONE? And that “liberation” is still ongoing. I guess it wasn’t really all that effective, then was it? And now Obambi’s taking HIS cues from Bush and widening the Afghan situation. And even admittedly without a plan to WIN. Nope, sorry, your hero has some of the biggest clay feet of any president we’ve had to suffer through so far... excepting only our current occupant of the once-White House. And as to the claim that we’ve had no more attacks on our soil, well, I’m not really ready to trust government agencies whose first words after an incident, even when it’s KNOWN that the perp was a muslim, and before the investigation, are to “reassure” us that whatever just happened was NOT a terrorist act... Sorry, that won’t wash, not at all.

We hired President Bush to protect us, part of the brilliant strategy to combat the War on Terror is to liberate a couple of the worst countries supporting and using terrorists.

So, you think that the US not getting attacked again until this year is not effective? What pray tell is effective to you?

Can you not understand that the ONLY strategy to prevent the deaths of literally millions of people is to liberate and change the middle east? Can you not see that left alone those nations will get nuclear capability and as soon as there are enough of these nations (N. Korea and Venezuela can be included) who have them...then some terrorists groups will get them to destroy cities and that is when the war will really hit you, but it will be too late by then friend, you and those like you will clamor for decimating the entire middle east...and we will.

Your ignorance of history and the importance of freedom in causing peace is incredible. But, to be honest, I read into your post more emotional depression than contemplation of the issue. You will need to get help with that elsewhere.

You evidently didn't see my second post where I corrected myself by saying "a black MARXIST president."

But you are correct and I stand corrected. Are we clear?

I don’t think it’s any better with the word Marxist on the end of black, but if that’s how you’d like your correction to stand then I know at least I am clear.

By the way... did you know that when you make a condescending statement like, “Are we clear” at the end of a post admitting you were incorrect it tends to negate any ownership of responsibility or intended humility that might have otherwise been expressed?

RE :” President Bush liberated over 50 million people, he protected us from another attack after 9/11 and gave us real hope and courage by setting the example. He did his best to bring private ownership back to America...try thinking Social Security. He stood up proudly and compassionately for the Right to Life at every turn. He saw the bigotry of the democrat party and the harm it was causing in abortion and education. He did his best to help minorities in both regards. President Bush did not fail us...we failed us.

Liberated??? They were better off under Saddam then the huge mess he created during 2005-2007 and much safer. He eventually straightened that mess out but left Afghanistan a mess in the process. Private ownership?? Minorities?? You mean his CRA policies? How many minorities voted republican because of Bush's CRA policies you think were so great, in 2006 and 2008. How about TARP. How about NO Child left... without private school vouchers.

“Liberated??? They were better off under Saddam then the huge mess he created during 2005-2007 and much safer. “

That is a totally ridiculous statement based upon propaganda put out by liberals. Iraqis are much much much better off for us getting rid of that tyrant for them. People, you need to learn to discern facts and truth from the propaganda...it is important...your very lives may depend upon that in the future and others lives will definitely depend upon it.

You do not seem to understand that we are fighting a war. The War On Terror is real sickoflibs, if we stop fighting today the war would not be over. There are ebbs and flows in all wars, this one included. What has hurt us more than anything is the aiding and abetting of the left to help the terrorists. This war would probably have been over by now had we had the real support of the left in our country, but they decided that there were political advantages to ‘warring against our President and Republican congress’ and to their shame they helped kill our soldiers and to prolong the war.

I think that TARP that President Bush accepted was necessary and the correct way to do it...no strings attached. It saved our economy.

The No Child Left Behind act was a good thing and has resulted in improvement in minority children education. The unions and leftists have always battled it because it was a threat to their monopoly/political power corrupt relationship between the teachers union and the democrat party.

Indeed, Ford just gave the teacher’s union 100 million dollars...most understand this is really a payoff to the democrat party for help they received or hope to receive.

I don’t think you have a good grasp of the situation sickoflibs. You are at the right internet site to get better informed. You may also want to get a subscription to the Wall Street Journal and read the comments as well as the articles. I know it really brings more truth to light for me.

Wpin.....don't pay any attention to sick.

He depends on Wikipedia for his information on what happened in Iraq. (i.e. he is ignorant).

My son worked directly with the Iraqi people all throughout 2008, and you are right. The idea that the Iraqi people preferred being under Saddam to liberation and self-governance is absurd. The idea that they were "better off" being butchered and tortured by their government is not even in the realm of the rational.

Our troops under George W. Bush liberated millions, and the ME and the world (especially the United States) are far safer because of their courage in defending our freedom and security.
