BALTIMORE - Baltimores mayor was convicted yesterday on a single charge she took gift cards intended for the citys poor. Although Sheila Dixon was acquitted of felony theft charges, her misdemeanor conviction could force her from office. Jurors deliberated more than six days after hearing accusations that the Democrat improperly used or kept $630 worth of gift cards. She was accused of soliciting most of the cards from a developer and buying electronics at Best Buy, clothes at Old Navy, and knickknacks at Target. The jury convicted her on one count of fraudulent misappropriation by a fiduciary and acquitted her on two counts of felony theft and one count of misconduct in office. Jurors failed to reach a verdict on another count of fraudulent misappropriation by a fiduciary. The conviction carries a maximum penalty of five years in prison, but prosecutors have not decided whether they will seek jail time. They also havent decided whether to seek a retrial on the undecided charge. Prosecutors painted a picture of a corrupt official going on shopping sprees and described a collection of electronics found during a raid of her home, including an Xbox, a PlayStation 2, and a video camera. Dixons lawyers blamed the case on developer Ronald Lipscomb, a married man who they said lavished her with gifts, including gift cards sent anonymously. Dixon thought gift cards delivered anonymously by another developer also came from Lipscomb, the defense argued.

Now if only Baltimore could get rid of Peter Angelos...
In 1991 Dixon waved her shoe at white colleagues on the Baltimore City Council and yelled, “You’ve been running things for the last 20 years. Now the shoe is on the other foot.” This incident led many people including some of her opponents to view her as a racist.
exerpt from Wiki-
Apparently its THEIR right!!!/sarc
A lot of this came to light over the ACORN scandal. The Attorney general said it was so sad these charges were being brought because Dixon was a hard worker. The AG also a Obama campaigner. The same AG who would prosecute the ACORN filmmakers on biggov.
Hold on and I will grab the website so others can link these corruptocrats.
So in other words, you can be corrupt and break the law as long as you work hard at it. Typical progresive thought.
And we wonder why our inner-cities are going to s—t.
"Jurors deliberated more than six days after hearing accusations that the Democrat improperly used or kept $630 worth of gift cards".

And undoubtedly, “Historic”.
Now she can make more history as the “first felonious female African-American Mayor of Baltimore.”
We live is such earth-moving, historically important times, don't’ we?
I am so sick of corrupt government employees.
She's a Democrat. Nothing to see here, folks . . . move along.
No doubt she’s another supporter of America’s First Failed Black Pres-dent.....
She did it for the children.

Whitey, dont let the sun set on you in Bodymore, Murderland.
She has another trial coming up too. In this one, she’s charged with perjury, a far more serious charge. Still, you gotta love it when these “men/women of the people” steal from their charges and think they’ve done nothing wrong.
And, about a month ago, the NAACP held a meeting to address their fears that if Mayor Dixon were to be convicted that she might be replaced by a non-black Republican. They sought assurances that no-one other than a black Democrat would get the seat.
From the city where Nancy Pelosi learned from the “best”...her father, once a mayor of Baltimore.
The fix was in. Notice that the “jury of her peers” let her walk on the major charge. They only convicted her on the gift card charge in order to make the prosecution look petty. Jury nullification, pure and simple.
