"Ay, there's the rub. Nobody ever seems to have a solution for this."

The solution is VERY simple. Just actually seek out and discover those using false social security numbers. Once they can't get work, they'll deport themselves (as many are doing already due to the poorer economy).

"3) Did you get banned from DU?"

That does seem like the most likely explanation for him expressing skepticism about Sarah Palin.

LOL!! Definitely. I think another poster, seohioyoungconservative, had proposed that anything other than adoration of Our Lady of Wasilla should be considered a hate crime. LOL!!

"Our Lady of Wasilla "

That's funny. You know, she seems, if nothing else, pretty well grounded, from what I can tell. But you know what they say about power corrupting. Fame, adoration, applause, unconditional love from adoring fans, it can all play on a person's head. It's unhealthy. In a way, her fans do her no favor by acting in such a way. Much better to be sober and even skeptical about it. It'd keep her honest. Not saying she isn't (although she did fudge the whole bridge to nowhere thing), just saying. If yes men are bad for an executive, how bad is a frigging throng of yes men and women? Better to challenge her, keep her on her toes. But hey, what do I know?

I wonder if there isn’t some way to better police the system. How is it checked now? Couldn’t there be some sort of automated way to make sure that only valid ss numbers are used?

Hmmm, I’m going to re-think that DU-er charge now.
Just kidding.

Maybe if you followed her on Twitter, you’d feel better about the whole thing.

lol...sorry, I don’t tweet. It’s enough to squeeze in this freeping time. And besides, every tweet she makes is reported on and posted here, so I keep up on her musings whether I want to or not.

And then I have to find time for my own reading...do you think taking out books on Patrick Henry and Frederick Nietzsche at the same time will get me on a federal watch list? I have to admit, I couldn’t really blame them if it did!

Illegal alien apologist:

You’re finding problems where there are none. Looking for excuses, nothing but excuses from your types.

Where I work, you’d be fired - we expect results not someone just looking for problems. I have no time to deal with your type. I answered your questions, easy peasey stuff. They got here, they can get back - why the hell would I want to escort them back? I didn’t escort them here and they made it just fine. If they don’t have a job or welfare, they’ll have to go somewhere. All we care is they don’t take American jobs and employers are punished for breaking the law.

No more time for you. I seriously doubt your time here will be much longer, enjoy FR.

You probably shouldn't even be on this thread until you become more educated. Everify - it's that great idea you just had as a way to make sure only valid ss numbers are used. It's a government program that's been in place about a couple years. And it's free.

Palin is playing it smart, not running for President, rather seeing if there is a goundswell for her to run. We’ll all see if it developes beyond what there is now. Seems that’s similar to RRs tactic.

I like all the deportation ideas you listed, my guess is those tactics would begin an exodus of self deportation and 90% of them would be gone. I’m waiting to hear them from Sarah. I expect to, but until I hear them I can only guess.

Illegal alien apologist:

Not at all. Didn't I say I think they should go? I'm just saying if it were that easy, it'd be done already. Saying you think it should be so doesn't make it so.

You’re finding problems where there are none. Looking for excuses, nothing but excuses from your types.

Not at all. I'm looking for SOLUTIONS. This is a problem that's been going on for a looooong time. Didn't Reagan grant amnesty 20-something years ago? If it's so easy, why the hassle?

Where I work, you’d be fired - we expect results not someone just looking for problems.

Where I work, I can't be fired---I'm self-employed. Again, you say looking for problems, I say looking for solutions. Talk is cheap.

I have no time to deal with your type.

Apparently you do. By the way, you on the clock?

No more time for you. I seriously doubt your time here will be much longer, enjoy FR.

Well, I've made it 9 years or so. Hoping to make it another 9. Knock wood.

Well if Everify is such a hot item, I guess no illegals are getting work anymore! Problem solved!

“Nice sound bite, but let’s see how the rubber meets the road. Two parts—How does she recommend we get them out? “

I haven’t listened to the clip yet, but you make a good point. I hope she’s more specific, because to date she has stated she’s against deportation....and workplace enforcement. I’m surprised Lars didn’t pin her down more on that. She also stated in Oct. she was not for ‘amnesty’, but a ‘pathway to citizenship’. More doublespeak.

” Univision: As governor, how do you deal with them? Do you think they all should be deported? Sarah Palin: There is no way that in the US we would roundup every illegal immigrant - there are about 12 million of the illegal immigrants - not only economically is that just an impossibility but that’s not a humane way anyway to deal with the issue that we face with illegal immigration.

Univision: Do you then favor an amnesty for the 12 or 13 million undocumented immigrants? Sarah Palin: No, I do not. I do not. Not total amnesty. You know, people have got to follow the rules. They’ve got to follow the bar, and we have got to make sure that there is equal opportunity and those who are here legally should be first in line for services being provided and those opportunities that this great country provides.

Univision: To clarify, so you support a path to citizenship for undocumented immigrants? Sarah Palin: I do because I understand why people would want to be in America. To seek the safety and prosperity, the opportunities, the health that is here. It is so important that yes, people follow the rules so that people can be treated equally and fairly in this country.

Univision: Would you support stopping these raids until comprehensive immigration reform could be passed in Congress?”

Palin: “Well, the unfortunate thing of course about the raids is that it does affect the families involved here. Parents and children are separated and that’s tragic.”

Oh dear, I figured you came along when Huckabee came along.

My apologies there, if you’re going to play devil’s advocate - you should let people know.

Not on the clock, at home now. I have explained way too many time how Reagan did grant amnesty, one time thing, then implemented I-9 to make sure it never happened again, yadayadayada, tired of repeating the same solutions over and over to the uneducated.

Perhaps the only solution, is to get rid of all Senators. i’d go for that one.

I’m sorry but I no longer wish to discuss, I’ve tried all I can to explain over and over (not just you) but they got here with the expectation of a job, they can get back when they have no jobs. Slave labor, is not an option for America. Prison labor is an option, they can make the samewages and have some money when they get out and use half income to pay for their cost of feeding and housing - for non-violent offenders only, yadayadayada.

Enforcement costs are paid for by fines paid by employers.

Beats me. It seems like you have to starve them out. You either get serious about enforcing employement verification, and then they all go home (like they have been doing due to the bad economy). Personally, I’d like to be able to ID all the offenders, so that they go to the back of the line. And I’d like confirmation that they have left, and haven’t merely outwitted the system and obtained a new identity. I honestly don’t know. But then, I’m not in politics, so I don’t have to come up with a solution. I’d like to hear how it’s supposed to get done.
