Chicago police were investigating a burglary at the offices of attorneys for former Gov. Rod Blagojevich in which at least one computer containing undercover recordings from the sweeping corruption case was stolen, sources said.

The break-in took place about 4 a.m. at the law offices of Sam Adam and his son, Sam Adam Jr., in the 6100 block of South Ellis Avenue, police and Sam Adam Jr. said.

Well, actually, the best analysis I’ve seen is that, contrary to the “consensus opinion,” it wasn’t a deliberately engineered fraud in favor of Kennedy but the fact that there was a downticket race (I forget which one) that the Daley machine really wanted to affect—someone who was on to machine and threatened their future who had to be defeated, so they rolled out the big guns to control that race and Kennedy cruised to victory on the coattails of that race. I don’t remember the details, but some long-time political observers who know this town inside and out say that’s what happened. It’d probably be in the archives of TomRoeser.com blog.

Thanks for the info...still think Nixon showed class on that one, not wanting to put the country through a long, drawn out fight to prove fraud. Chicago political machine is frighting.
