At the very least it is the west Coast version of the big dig. Although the big dig was a major fiasco.
“Major fiasco” would be an understatement. I believe the costs for it have run well beyond $20 billion (it was initially believed to cost only $2 billion or so). President Reagan vetoed that fiasco in the ‘80s as “too expensive”, but the Dems overrode his veto.
